Radisson San Jose-Costa Rica: what do users think?

Samuel Deese: Good value but some quirks. Nice rooms, good breakfast, reliable WiFi, friendly and helpful team. Some of the lights in my room didn’t work and the climate control didn’t really control anything, was always about 74F. Not a good hotel for walking places, especially at night, plan on getting a cab

MEM: I booked this location because of the high star rating. It wasn’t terrible, but it also wasn’t a 4.4/5 location. Aesthetically, it feels a lot like a wartime bunker, and our room was very musty. There were black spots in the carpet, which I can only assume were mold. Luckily, we’re not allergy sufferers, but that could certainly complicate life for someone who does suffer from allergies. The staff was helpful, and the breakfast buffet was the highlight, for sure. If you can get a decent rate, a solid place to spend a night on the way in or out of the country.

M CS: I have stayed at this hotel frequently over the years and I continue to return as I have never had a negative experience for the most part. I did not like my room during this last stay but this fact does not take away from years of positive experiences. What I LOVE about this hotel is the service I treatment I receive from the staff. Special shout out to Mayra and Ignacio who were wonderful during my Dec. 2022 visit.

Tom Haynes: Pretty much you get what you expect with this hotel. Fantastically convenient for transfers and overnight stays for moving on into Costa Rica. However, food is pretty standard and there isn’t much of an atmosphere to the hotel. Highlight by a distance is the breakfast staff - all hugely enthusiastic.

Maya Tydykov: Husband and I spent 1 night here during our honeymoon trip to Costa Rica. Pros: Food was delicious. Our dinner and brunch were both excellent quality. For dinner, I had the mushroom risotto for dinner and the blue cheese crème brûlée for dessert. The service was good (albeit a bit slow). The hotel’s main lobby and outdoor areas are very nice and inviting. Cons: Our room was… odd to say the least. Huge, with 2 bathrooms, a separate living room area, and a bedroom. Stains on the carpet. The partially-concrete design of the room was a bit off putting. The light switches didn’t all work properly and one of the lights flickered. The blow dryer in one of the bathrooms didn’t work properly - it emitted distressing noises and a burnt smell, and I saw electricity going around the back part of it. Ended up using the hair dryer in the other bathroom, which worked fine.

Lisa Katharina Holzinger: We stayed there for one night and honestly the pictures we saw on Booking didn’t fulfill our expectations.. this hotel has been a 5 star hotel 30 years ago probably and that’s how it smells as well The room smelled so musty that even my clothes did still after 3 days The pool was shabby and the breakfast has been very limited The location is fine, staff was friendly and the price was ok.

Fabian Arredondo: My stay at Radisson was great! The room service was well done and climate friendly. The best part for me was starting off the day with breakfast and Alonso treated each meal with remarkable service by giving recommendations and coffee! I would definitely come backRooms: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Location: 4/5 …More

Crowne Plaza San Jose Corobici Conf. Center: what do users think?

Tricia Estepa: Staff and Service are exceptional. The hotel is lovely and very clean. Completely updated to North American Standards. The food is excellent, breakfast was included. Both restaurants have excellent food and room service 24hrs. Lucia at the concierge desk booked an excursion for our group of 12 with very little notice and it was incredible. You were able to exchange currency at front desk and housekeeping was perfection.

j w: Nice hotel with modern room and bath. Currency exchange on site is a welcome bonus. Nice pool and patio area. Gym is open all day. 24 hour room service has very limited options but were delicious. Had a great time at the hotel bar with Nancy the bartender. She made delicious espresso martinis and other cocktails. She even recommended restaurants and bars around San Jose. She also made a reservation for us as we had trouble communicating with the businesses.

Julieta Catalina Villalba Arias: They have a very good attitude to serve the best. They are very kind. Breakfast have the most important food: eggs, fruit, gallo pinto (rice with beans) bread and green juice is delicious. The gym have a rower, stair master, runners, bicycle, dumbbells, yoga ball and two yoga mats pretty well. Things to get better: the schedule of airport transport, remove the room mat and making sure that housekeeper ladies leave towels 😅

martin leison: Great location, excellent service, pool gym, barAnd great Nativo restaurant.Wifi appears to be weak at least in my room area. Something they can improve on

MADC: what do users think?

New Leaf: Not an extremely large place but a very unique one, I was just as interested in the location as the artwork exhibited. Luckily when I attended there were very interesting exhibitions and I had a great time. Admission was a good value for the price, very interesting layout and they utilize the former use if the building to add to the overall aesthetic, a very lovely place for an afternoon outing, or a nice day date. A short stroll from many wonderful restaurants and nightlife

Toby Wilson: Didn’t let me in as I only had a 20k colon note. It was 2.5k colon to get in. So over 20% and it was all the atm provided. They didn’t even consider finding a solution or anything. Clearly just wanted me out. Was really disappointed :(

Michel Nadeau: My second favourite museum after the National Museum. Not very large so quickly go through. Several modern art items worth seeing.

Mike Hunt: Very small was three rooms. "Art" was bland and unimaginative when i went . Most staff were asleep. Says online it is free but they chargeVisited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No …More

Joan Callamezzo: Muy interesante. A good visit for tourists, full of history!

Rob Evans: Large unexpected space with interesting art and photos worth stopping by and seeing

Chris Giles: Very small. Cash only, C2,500 for foreigners. One very unfriendly guard at the main gate who evidently thought I was bent on criminal activity, such was his aggressive demeanour. Not much to see.

Sheraton San Jose Hotel: what do users think?

Caleb Buswell: Staff are friendly and helpful. Many speak English which made things easier for me. The facility its self is nice and clean. Over all well maintained given the size. I have enjoyed my stay here. Rooms: Rooms were clean and had the expected amenities and technology. The shower was a ceiling spray which I really enjoyed.

Mike Fitzpatrick: Just finished week stay. No maid service till late in day just when you are returning tired. Ran out of food very early on Thursday buffet. Ordered ribs. Got saucer with one small rib and four French fries. Frequent visitor who will never stay again. Back downtown to more convenient hotels.

Ramona Parker: I really enjoyed my stay here. Everyone was so welcoming, from the minute you arrived. The doorman to front desk to the maid service, every person there greeted you and assisted in anyway. The buffet breakfast was awesome. The coffee, ahh so good. I would higher recommend this Sheraton to anyone.Rooms: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Location: 5/5 …More

Park Inn by Radisson San Jose, Costa Rica: what do users think?

Carlos Martins: So you think you’ll be on a 5 star, but forget it, this hotel has a very nice view from the room and comfy beds, and that’s it. Check-in was the first miss, the receptionist was doing other things and nor minimally focused on us - she asked my name several times after having the passports in front of her (already with a copy done). Very basic information at check-in, 2 non working cards that we had to return back… 0 focus on the guests. Room was comfy with an amazing view, but… you ear the cars on the street, people coughing in the surroundings, a very noisy AC - a very poor night of sleep. The worst was yet to come, the breakfast. It’s a 5 star hotel where tables are not prepared, where basic food is presented with no labels, and where you have ask the employees about yogurt, eggs, sweets, etc… I even saw an employee catching the breadcrumbs from the table and putting it back on bread basket. The coffee was brown water, we asked for an espresso and guess what, we had to pay for it… at a 5 star hotel. After 2 weeks in Costa Rica, we’ve been better served at 3 star hotels, and magnificently served on a 4 star 1 km away from this one. I’ve been in several Radisson blue all over the world, and was unlucky to find the worst of all.

Ashis Bhisey: We stayed at this hotel twice - at the beginning and end of a package tour of Costa Rica. The hotel is very well maintained and clean. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Our room rate included a buffet breakfast with a good selection of options. The downtown area is a short walk away, but the area is nothing special. Service was courteous and professional.

Rachel Bharath: This is a great hotel in the San Jose area. The free breakfast is unmatched, and the rooms are super comfy and nice. My family enjoyed our stay here very much and would easily consider staying here again!

Mike Abreu: We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Very clean. Prompt kind service. Very affordable for what you get. Great rooms. Comfortable bed. Small gym and pool. Bar and restaurant are not bad. The free breakfast was excellent with a ton of great choices. And very tasty. Good location. Safe guarded parking. We felt safe walking to Central marketplace. Just about 10 mins walking time to the heart of San Jose. Strongly recommend you experience cental marketplace. Its a great experience.

Matteo Migliavacca: The hotel is great and have very good offers. We got the suite room which was very nice and very big also with a view of the city. The breakfast is ok, not amazing but ok, could be improved. The location is ok, not in the center of San Jose but in 15 minutes walking you can get to the center. Suggested!Rooms: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Location: 4/5 …More

Remy Jeudy: Poorest service ever . I got there 2 hours early, they told me I have to pay $30 extra in order to check in early . I canceled and went to Hollyday Inn which is 5 mn away . They game a room without hesitation. I would never recommend park inn to no body . Their customer service are the worst ever . Rude people.

Kevin Nealy: Unbeatable hotel in San Jose for the price. We stayed a night after a late flight and it was everything we expected and much more. Very clean, well decorated rooms, hot shower, and an amazingly delicious breakfast spread.

Southwest Costa Rica: what do users think?

Faatimah Rasheed: Worst airline ever, next to spirit lol never again will I ride them. Some random extra security check like I’m some criminal. I’m clear and TSA pre check, not sure why I got treated less than 🙄

Patrick Suman: My girlfriend and I had a flight home to Cleveland from San Jose Costa Rica departing at 1:05 pm EST on Saturday, April 2.Our flight was delayed due to the Southwest technology issues and we were told that we would not make our connection in Baltimore due to the delay. They said we would be put up in a hotel and provided transportation to and from the hotel, along with a meal and that we would be home by 10:00 am the next day. I asked for confirmation and they said to talk to the agents in Baltimore. We arrived in Baltimore and they did literally nothing for us. We tried to sleep in the airport and at this point have been up for 26.5 hours. They routed us through St Louis and we are now scheduled to arrive home at noon, meaning we will have been awake for over 30 hours. Still, Southwest is doing nothing to reimburse us or compensate us for our troubles. They didn’t even provide a meal on the 8 hour flight from San Jose to Baltimore. This has literally been the worst customer service experience of my life and I will not fly Southwest in the future. Avoid this airline at all costs!

Richard Phillips de Costa Rica: Ok

Mariog241 :-: Very good service and can carry more luggage..

Andres Flores: Good service during the flight, the call center and the attention to groups is not good. It has cost us too much to receive conditions for groups of 15 people and the line for CR is always busy

Gira Villafuerte: Excellent airlines I recommend them 100%

Marvin Joseph Garcia: exc!!!

Walter Calderon: Good customer service

Costa Rica Marriott Hotel Hacienda Belen: what do users think?

Diana Moncaleano: We stayed at this hotel for 3nights, and it was an overall wonderful experience. Oscar at their Hacienda Restaurant and Alexander, the Bellman were superb in their customer service. The hotel is well located near Dollar Rental where we rented our car from, and only about half hour to the airport. Very relaxing ambience with great restaurant options. We tried all the restaurants and the food was just delicious from the presentation to the natural ingredients and yummy taste! I would certainly stay here again and recommend it to all of our family and friends. Pura Vida!

Paul Franzen: Outstanding stay. All of the staff is exceptional! The bellmen, Roy and Carlos noticed a low tire on my rental car. After checking with me, they contacted the rental car company and arranged for a replacement car. All with no effort or inconvenience on my part. Everyone else was courteous and welcoming at all times. Good Job! Thanks!

Christine Wilson: My daughter and I booked our first trip to Costa Rica and we were pleasantly surprised at the friendliness, kindness, professionalism and love we received. From the time we checked on at the first desk, to the bell hop bringing our bags to our room. We had a phenomenal breakfast experience. I need to shout out Veronica , Martha, Caleb and Antonio. Antonio made us laugh so hard, it shifted my whole mood. Then the GM Dennis came over to our table in the Executive Lounge to greet us. This is what I call phenomenal customer service. We will be back again.

Tyrone Flowers: Amazing and friendly staff. 4 restaurants with good food. Lovely property. The spa is gendered and bathing suits are required. This means you cannot share a hot tub, steam, or sauna with someone of another gender whom you’re traveling with. Easy airport access, quiet, and inviting. I’d stay any time I come to town.

Kium: Extraordinary service. Honestly the hospitality here was better than any other hotel I’ve ever been to. Definitely an entire resort at this location. Prices for everything was basically U.S prices, but i’d say worth every penny. Had a few 24/7 areas to dine and relax. Free Shuttle to Airport and Back was awesome. Will definitely be back at this hotel in the future!

Jess Boyce: I travel often for work and have stayed in many, many Marriotts. This is by far my favorite property I’ve stayed in! The staff was so kind and helpful, making sure we had absolutely everything we could need. The food in the restaurants was delicious, the activities on site were wonderful, the lounge was spacious and served both breakfast and dinner, the spa was absolutely divine - I had no reason to leave the property! We already can’t wait until the next time we visit!

Greg Floyd: I give it 4 and a 1/2 stars only because the pull out bed and the sweet the sofa bed did not have pillows blanket and cheats and we had to get it brought up to us. Other than that Alexander was excellent or bellhop and the service was great executive lounge is top notchRooms: 4/5 | Service: 5/5 | Location: 5/5 …More

Adobe Rent a Car San Jose: what do users think?

Victoria Lekson: By far the best car rental experience we have ever had. After reading horror stories of car rental companies in Costa Rica, we did a ton of research and found Adobe rent a car. our experience could not have been better. when we arrived to the airport, someone was waiting for us to shuttle us to get our vehicle where our brand new SUV was waiting. they tell you the actual make / model of the vehicle you’ll be getting ahead of time so that gave us a lot of peace of mind since we needed a 4x4 vehicle. the employees are beyond professional and we payed exactly what we expected to. Drop off at the Libera location was equally as smooth - I think the whole process took 10 minutes. We will be using this company again and recommending them to everyone. thank you for the smoothest car rental of our lives!!! it’s so nice to know that honest, friendly businesses such as Adobe rent a car still exist.

Shonterria Stokes: Mr. Miguel was a class A gentleman and has excellent customer service upon returning the vehicle. You will have to purchase the third party insurance is what they sell you. There are two options.... 1. If you wreck the car or have an issue you fix it or 2. 100 bucks more covers even if you mistakenly drive the car in a ditch. They will convince you that your American express and full coverage at home is not enough. A deposit will be placed on your card for 750.00. You can also rent a wifi adapter 60+ for 7 days. The cars are aesthetically good but once you begin to drive them it may sound like the front in will fall out any minute.

Ryan Lengerich: Adobe was an easy, straightforward and honest rental car experience. In a country filled with car rental horror stories, Adobe is a shining light. The pricing was up front, the vehicle was excellent and the return was easy. They drove me back to my nearby hotel right after dropping off. Most importantly what they said they would charge, they did. No surprises. I used the link through mytanfeet to receive a small discount, a second driver and a cooler (which we used a lot). I would not rent from anyone else in CR.

A M: Rented a car with them for 9 days. Have to wait for a shuttle at the airport that takes you to the rental location about 5-10 min away from the airport. Were welcomed by the staff where they walk you through the various insurance options. They pointed out that I could use my credit card insurance for the rental car which ended up making the rate lower than I paid online. Return was easy and there were no hidden charges after the fact. Will rent with them again

Ish B: Get back before sunset as there is potential danger if you stay out at night . Daytime travel is worry free and good. Roads are good except the highway from SanJose to Lemon. Lemon is a bit weird and not so clean . We have trouble finding the Adobe rep inside the airport because there is none but just you exit you’ll see a guy standing with a big sign just outside and his transport van was right there too . It took about ten minutes to get to their location but the what disappointed me was the time it took to complete all the forms. It took over 20 mins to complete the formalities and we had been traveling for over 16 hours changing two flights to get there . We were given a mid size Hyundai with 76000 miles on it and I was very scared all the time if this car would be okay but it was good through the two week trip . It had two faults. Radio switch kept popping out and gas would not fill up right up to full top . I explained this to the guy when we returned the car and they were very understanding. The return process was very good and made up for the delayed we experienced at the arrival. The staff were so good that they put us into their transit van and sent us to the airport within 10 mins. We choose to rent Wi-Fi service from them for approx $120 and it was god sent because we could use our phones on Wi-Fi with data turned off . No need to get another sim from this country. We also bought all the insurances to cover for any damage and we had none whatsoever as we tended to park a bit further from other cars. There were no arguments upon returning the car and no surprises which is what a customer needs . Overall very happy and please do rent the wifi and if you are traveling from Limon to San Jose the road works are all the way and make sure you fill up before you get to the mountains near San Jose as the hill climb is close to two hours and there are no gas stations. Good staff at this location.

Erez Eyal: Great local rent a car company in coata rica. we rented twice from san jose airport they give as a free shuttle to and from the airport the car were in good condition they are reliable , we had the full insurance and got the deposit back fast after returning the car I highly recommend

Megan McGahee: Great car rental experience during our time in Costa Rica! Easy, efficient, and wonderful customer service. Highly recommend!

Nick: We rented a Geely G3 for two weeks in November 2022 to travel across the country. No hidden fees, super easy, friendly workers, quick return process. Would recommend!

Duane Scholer: It was a short guided walk to get the car and it was clean and ready. The customer service was outstanding, the simplist easiest foreign country car rental I have ever done. The small 4wd was great for the primitive roads in Costa Rica, even crossed a stream with ease.

Country Inn & Suites By Radisson, San Jose Aeropuerto, Costa Rica: what do users think?

Yvette Whitaker: Close to the highway and accompanying smell and noise but the room was nice and I thought the service was exceptional. Very friendly, helpful staff and they all spoke English, which was great since my Spanish is terrible (getting better). The breakfast was fantastic. Airport shuttle leaves once per hour and only took about 15 minutes to get us there in the morning (rush hour traffic goes the other way). For the price, a very good value.

Jennifer Adams: This hotel is in a great location for the airport. There is free breakfast and airport shuttle. The staff is amazing. Everyone has big smiles. We felt welcomed. The hotel also has a nice restaurant. It is also close to plaza Cariari which has several restaurants and a Fresh market. The rooms could use a little makeover, but so could I. Our Junior suite room was comfortable and spacious. There is MTV. If you are an older person, difficulties walking, or a sturdier person, the stairs to the beds may be difficult. With this being said, there are other room options available. I am looking forward to our return and eating a meal in the restaurant here. To the staff, your smiles and kindness won us over. Keep being you. 💜

Null Null: Stayed here twice. The first time was ok, despite the rooms being super small and smelly. The second time the front desk service was terrible and made me decide never to stay here again. I only needed a room for 6 hours to sleep overnight. Well, unfortunately even that was terrible. The staff were ULTRA noisy at 6am, yelling to one another as they slammed room service dishes around, and I’m pretty sure there was some construction next door. Oh and earlier that day they tried charging my travel buddy $50 to check in at 2:30pm instead of 3, claiming the ENTIRE place was full when the hotel is dead as a cemetery. My experience was similarly difficult, slow, and staff were very rude. Specifically, there was a very arrogant disrespectful front desk employee named Andre who seemed to enjoy making things difficult for me to check in. After a few minutes of his disrespect I asked to speak with a supervisor (Melisa) who was equally unhelpful and couldn’t care less. I wouldn’t stay here again if it were free and I think you should stay away from this place too

Tiffany Kelly: I’m not overly picky about hotels but this one was much worse than the photos. No elevator. Poor signage and couldn’t find room. Shower head sprayed across the bathroom. Stairs to upstairs of 2 bedroom suite were off kilter. No tv in the living room. Old microwave and phone. Bedside light didn’t work. Smells bad. No artwork so it felt really sterile. It could be nice but is just meh. Needs some work. But at least the a/c was good. Also just found out the “free airport shuttle” is only TO the hotel and has specific hours. This is not specified on the website. This was the main reason I booked here so I didn’t have to pay extra to transport 5 people to the airport. Their response “ we verified your last room and everything was working properly” is inaccurate as I am currently in this room with the problems which I wrote down and gave to the front desk. Do yourselves a favor and stay at the Hampton.

audrie meredith: It was a very nice hotel with a wonderful restaurant onsite. The rooms were great - large, clean, spacious. We had a great stay and would come back in the future without a doubt!Rooms: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Location: 4/5 …More

mary lehman: Very affordable and clean hotel near the airport. Landscaping around the pool is beautiful. Enjoyed tasty happy hour drinks and dinner. Van was waiting to take us to the airport.

University Of Costa Rica: what do users think?

Jason Smith: University of Costa Rica and the surrounding is a great place to catch the local vibe. Probably one of the more safer areas of San Jose. Lots of statues around the campus to look at and learn the history of the university. You will also be able to walk the many trails around campus. The university has definitely integrated nature into campus life as they also offer a guided nature walk so you can learn more about the animals in the local area. The students are very friendly and enjoy practicing their English speaking skills so the area feels a bit more welcoming to foreigners.

Boris Casares: No words to describe. Meant the world to me. Great place to take toddlers or babies on strollers or just walk your pet.

Lindsay Frey: Beautiful campus to stroll around! Epic trees and rad art installations everywhere

ana victoria chacon: My Alma Mater. Simply the best University in Costa Rica, Central America and one of the best in Latin America. You can expect very challenging courses professors and you will truly learn to think, analyze and investigate. If you’re looking for just getting a certificate easily, this is not the place for you. Bonus point: the best campus in Costa Rica surrounded with Green areas.

Yuri Reyes: What a view! 😍

Ariel Calderón González: The Best University in Costa Rica. It is worth seeing it if you have time. Also, there is a small chance of seeing sloths. But most importantly, if you are interested in science, you will find scientist with the highest standart worldwide.

R SR: Enviroment friendly, very quiet place for do exercise. The main university campus in Costa Rica
