Parque de Diversiones: what do users think?
Andrea Page
Andrea Page: Randomly found this near our Airbnb while visiting San Jose. Kids had a blast. Was pleasantly surprised by this park of fun!
Deyna Bonilla
Deyna Bonilla: Is not bad, but is not good, you have to wait a lot to enter some games, and sometimes the security in the games is not that great. The food is really expensive and not that good, is better to bring your own food. Sometimes wet people will sit next to you making your clothes get wet as well. But over all is not a bad place to go from time to time when you want to experience something different with friends or kids.
Anthony Gross
Anthony Gross: It was romantic and fun. Aran our six year old was a little disappointed since he was under 1.20m in height. He was not able to ride any of the bigger rides but they have a kids area which was perfect. Good is priced well... overall great experience
Beckett Prado
Beckett Prado: Fun time, exciting the parking is rediculous
Todd Parks
Todd Parks: Inexpensive. Very safe. 2 coasters. About 10 "attractions" for adults. Childrens area with 10 attractions/rides. Fridays are not busy. Sunday is Packed.
Luis Dominguez
Luis Dominguez: I’m a father of 3 daughters (2 year to 8 years old), My wife and I came here not expecting much, but to our surprise we had a great time, we paid for the fast pass about 40$, we has a great time. There are 2 rides of water slides we did those about 10 times, our kids love that.

RoCoy Barrantes
RoCoy Barrantes: Nice place to bring the kids. Children under 11 years old do not pay entrance, adults pay 2500 colones.
Mariam Rojas
Mariam Rojas: Excellent place to visit with children and family. They have many animals, they are very well cared for and the place is central, small and can be covered in just over an hour. I highly recommend it because we also help orphaned children
jose apu
jose apu: I noted it to be a bit unkempt and lacking a bit of grooming. The value of the input would have to be a little lower. About three years ago I went with my first granddaughter and she liked it. Now we went with the second granddaughter and she liked it too. But grooming is paramount.
pine pine castillo
pine pine castillo: Very nice family environment to meet animals and with a swimming pool and green areas carousels for children ...
KarLA Mora
KarLA Mora: Nice place to go out with the children, a lot of animals, they are very docile with the children, there are also swimming pools for children and adults, if they bring to the pool small children it is better to bring extra clothes for an adult to accompany them.
yolanda lopez
yolanda lopez: Beautiful place, my son had an incredible time, excellent to visit with the family, very affordable prices, very well cared for animals... Without words, we will be back very soon!
Jeffrey Gamboa Vega

Cosi: Idyllic, beautiful and calming. The Butterfly Garden is a perfect place to escape the noisy city and find a place to calm and ground yourself while you’re surrounded by astonishing plants and of course, the butterflies. A variety of wonderful flying creatures and a small tour through the jungle await you here. It’s absolutely affordable (about 4$) and so worth it ¡gracias para la experiencia! <3

Parque Central de San José: what do users think?
Nikki W
Nikki W: Park in the center of town. Easily accesible by buses. Parking lot is two blocks from here; down from corner McDonalds. Great as a meet up point... monuments and history here. Lots of pigeons. People selling icees- great on a hot day. This park sits in the center of a main road in the downtown area and very close to fast food restaurants and shops to purchase items.
Dylan Solera
Dylan Solera: I really like this park, it has a wide variety of shops nearby, many delicious places to eat, many green areas, it has people selling typical food, a very beautiful place. It is a quiet place and is always. Guarded by the municipal and federal police, around you will always see street vendors offering much-needed accessories for travelers, on the corner there is a McDonalds next door, pay less and on the other corner. A famous bar called the terrace, there are always many people at noon when it does not rain and the weather is warm, the sun. Covers almost the entire park which makes your stay there a bit complicated. Everything else is very nice. I recommend it to heal and clear
AphroKittyTV !!
AphroKittyTV !!: Nice park in San Jose. We went at night. Only had a bit of time for a photo. It looked clean. Lots of people since it was after work and everyone was commuting from their jobs. Lots of pedestrian and vehicle traffic. Park is near food, retail shops, museums and churches.
don kenney
don kenney: Very nice, small City Park. You hear the parrots in the trees, see the red squirrels. Go inside the beautiful church. Very safe and clean. Locals are very nice people.
Jenn Z
Jenn Z: The downtown San Jose was little rundown. But still worth too see. The street conditions were not good. Dirty and old. Along the street you can see some interesting marks of history - old churches, statues and fountains. Advice to you - just keep walking, ignore any locals trying to approach you and sale you stuff.
Damini Delisle
Damini Delisle: Great street to hangout when in San Jose. It is filled with all the different food outlets, Clothes stores. Museums of Costa Rica are located here.the weather is Pleasant & windy.
Ilona
Ilona: Unfortunately very dirty
Karolayn Corrales
Karolayn Corrales: I love this park, is a landmark. Use it to get directions. And the church is gorgeous.
Fernando Arizmendi
Fernando Arizmendi: There was construction going on to the main plaza area. Lot of food options around. The mcdonalds has free wifi. Nice place to grab something to eat and relax. Across the street is the church.

Good “GoodOldDude” Old Dude
Good “GoodOldDude” Old Dude: Do you need to feed the benches where we can sit at its dangerous to sit on the picnic table and other places as well but generally the park is a good trail to walk all around and it’s fun to have nature inside the city
Arthur Matthews
Arthur Matthews: What a wonderful natural park for families especially on a Sunday. Come here relax and watch the people go bye. This is such a great facility for San Jose and Costa Rica. It is well policed and I have never seen any issues here. Below is a picture of a family who invited us to join them when they saw us looking at their family birthday celebrations. My dear wife was in tears of emotion at such a kind gesture.
Alejandra Diaz
Alejandra Diaz: Beautiful place to relax or to take a morning or evening walk. Central Park of San Jose
Sue Goldsworthy
Sue Goldsworthy: Nice Park, with large pond, a good variety of wildlife.
Rafael Newell
Rafael Newell: Centrally located with ample jogging routes inside and along the periphery of the Park. However, if you plan to jog, and are adventurous safety-wise, try to complete your jog by 6:30 AM because, thereafter, the area becomes highly polluted. EPILOGUE: In preparation for an international Track & Field competition, I paid a high price for doing my three-mile jog around 6 PM: my lungs became congested, I developed a dry cough the same day of my competition and, consequently, I completed only 800 meters of my 3,000 meters event; I was competitive in my age group (75-79 years) through those 800 meters BUT my lungs said STOP. Overall, I was not impressed with city life in San Jose during this, my fourth trip there over the last 58 years. The City was never a cosmopolitan and dynamic one BUT it had very polite and courteous people during the first three trips (the last ocurring during 1994) but those virtues have been lost.
Ben Corn (Pierce)
Ben Corn (Pierce): A large park with rich history and winding paths to walk along, various places to sit, and small street vendors selling various food and drink options. Visit the free art museum which was previously an old administrative building of the airport.
Heberto Reyes
Heberto Reyes: Beautiful green space for running…

Simón Bolívar Zoo and Botanical Garden: what do users think?
Ben Sperry
Ben Sperry: Interesting but small. This is a nice family spot if you have some time with the kids. The animals were great although very few and it advertised as a botanical garden but there is very little information about the plants. It is not a place to visit to find out about the plants and animals of Costa Rica but it was a pleasant place to take a stroll and see some interesting things. The bathrooms were clean.
Terry Young
Terry Young: I was really surprised, not a very impressive zoo at all. The nature walk was nice, but the animal exhibits were antiquated.
Noah Davis
Noah Davis: This is a small, cute, zoo. Good for strolling with a child in the morning. The animals seem happy and cared for well. Mostly local indigenous species. Beautiful plants as well. Not sure why it’s being given poor reviews! Also, wild iguanas may be walking around 😄.
Dave Kaminski
Dave Kaminski: Back in the day this was probably excellent. It definately could use a lot of TLC. With that said, it is still a nice - inexpensive place to visit while in San Jose. Well worth the time.
Michelle Van Heiningen
Michelle Van Heiningen: There are a lot of negative comments here about the zoo, but I genuinely enjoyed it. Felt like a nice little nature walk with exhibits. I took my camera and snapped some pretty pictures of the plants and animals there. I went by myself and it made for a nice little outing.
Alisha Maxine
Alisha Maxine: About $5 (US) Very small but good for the price. Some interesting animals
Darlene Broussard
Darlene Broussard: Lovely botanic park and zoo! Very peaceful and well done. Many birds well taken care of. The cats and monkeys were spectacular! There is a waterfall that you can hear but not really see. very accessible level (no stairs)walkways. A lovely garden respite from the city.
Jarod Roll
Jarod Roll: Small but very enjoyable zoo with exhibits mainly of native animals. The birds are best. Also a nice, peaceful walk through lush vegetation. Not crowded, nor expensive. Sharing the path with occasional free-roaming iguanas a bonus! Well worth a visit.Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No …More
Vero U
Vero U: I like this Zoo Park, but diffenetly they need to have real help, like a good sponsor support for reconstructions all territory and cages, make animals life much better... I hope, some day someone will take care of this Zoo and all little friends of human beings will feel much better, with no stress... An this good place will again flowing and blooming! God help them please!!! 🙏🏻

Viajerólogos
Viajerólogos: - Park located in the heart of the city of San José with large gardens, many trees, sculptures and benches to sit and escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. - Beautiful and interesting public place, which is also free to visit. During the afternoon, groups of people gather to play instruments and juggle. - In the Morazán park you will find works of art such as the "Temple of Music", its design was carried out by the architect Francisco Salazar, and it is an almost exact replica of the Temple of Love and Music located in the Palace of Versailles, in Paris , France. - Here you will also find the "Wings of Mexico" by the artist José Marín. This work symbolizes the eternal dream of the human being to transcend and reach new heights, not only on a physical scale, but also in other areas.
Raquel

The activities are engaging and you learn a lot, no matter your age. I would totally recommend them to anyone who wants to creat a strong bond between a group of people.
Marta Rodenas
Marta Rodenas: Better to come with a large group. It’s meant to be like a competition with points and adventure. Definitely better for kids 7-14 years old. The staff is very enthusiastic but a bit over the top with the acting. They have a cool property, our favorite part was the zip lining, the swing, and going into the cave. The cave was a bit tight so it may make some people uncomfortable, and you definitely can’t be over a certain size to go in.
Harry Sanchez
Harry Sanchez: Recently took a group of 12 or so teenagers, kids and adults to Fossil Land. From the very beginning, it was a blast! Meeting the chicken at the front gate, the staff, Otto - with his motto "du, du, matanga" and Cait made the trip unforgettable. We felt very safe, the adventures were tremendous, saw fossils, coming down the 400 meter long water slide and zip lines were out of this world! Prices were good as we had a great work out running around. We will highly recommend this place any time. See ya soon!

Luis Alvarado
Luis Alvarado: Amazing experience. Stress reliever if I had to come up with a couple of words to describe the experience. The attention from the staff was also amazing. At one time our daughter injured herself (she was very excited and lost balance) and the staff quickly got to the scene, assisted and helped her. We are talking that in less than a minute she was good to go again and start having fun. The installations are amazing as seen by the images and videos shared and you can also appreciate kids, young adults and even old ones enjoying the time here. I never thought that a place like this could exist but as it turns out, it turned easily into one of my favorite places to go and enjoy with the kids and even as a healthy option for exercising and sharing a fun time with others. I would recommend trying the climbing wall, the basketball jumping courts and in general the whole place. You can even do birthday parties here and again, it has a staff ready to help at a moments notice. I give it 5 out of 5 stars. Many thanks to Kaved Rashford and Jason (two valuable key staff members) for their assistance, valuable feedback and quick help for me and my family.

Mariposario Butterfly Kingdom Costa Rica: what do users think?
Traveling Cosmos and Tacos
Traveling Cosmos and Tacos: This was a really cool place to visit! Very peaceful. Lots of different butterflies freely flying all around you. Best time to go is in the morning when they are all up and flying around. I went closer to closing time so most were sleeping but I still was able to get great pictures! The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They are opening a restaurant on the premises soon. Don’t forget to stop in the gift shop. Lots of cool things to buy 🤗
Casey Bricker
Casey Bricker: So beautiful and idyllic. Small garden but I had the whole place to myself. The tour guide didn’t speak much English and I am not fluent in Spanish but we were able to communicate and figure things out :) she says only one of their guides speak English but they are moving towards an entirely virtual tour. GO WHEN ITS SUNNY, the butterflies hunker down when it’s rainy. Learned so much and enjoyed so much beauty!
Kalina Heggie
Kalina Heggie: I loved the butterfly kingdom! The guide was super knowledgeable and fun! I really enjoyed walking around and having butterfly’s land on you while what hung them play and float in the air. Definitely check this place out while your in San Jose!
