Rebeca Muñoz: Terrible attention from the doctor, the consultation lasts less than 3 minutes per patient, he charges very dearly, he does not let you explain the reason why he requested the appointment and when he gives the diagnosis he does it with an arrogant attitude. I went for a problem around the lips that I had for 6 months, he did not let me explain anything, he did not even examine me and he almost yelled at me (literally) that it was for "licking my lips", he gave me a medicine that worked for 2 weeks and then the condition got worse, in the end i went to another dermatologist who diagnosed me with acute atopic dermatitis. I do not recommend it at all.

Jorge Inojosa: Terrible attention. They do not keep the appointment time. He only attends you for 5 minutes and does not give you time to clarify doubts and concerns. Everything is pure facade and marketing, they are not professional people nor do they care about customers just to make money.

Roberto Fernandez: I would not recommend Dinora Ochy, MD. From the beginning I was more concerned with giving myself a new appointment than with solving my skin problem. He diagnosed me with "maskacne" the diagnosis was not bad but the antibiotic-based treatment, when what I had was a local problem. Another doctor solved for me in an appointment what she could not. For a change, the medicine that she sent me caused me an allergy and it was a world to be able to contact her so that her answer was "stop taking it and see you at the next appointment" which was in 3 weeks. I do not recommend it.

Martplus River: Although the attention is good I had a bad experience. I went to get a microbladin and before entering to perform it I canceled it and they made me sign a document saying that I agreed with the procedure and color they made me without even doing it. That caused me from the beginning insecurity. They passed me to a tiny room and marked my eyebrows, although I saw them badly, I allowed the young woman who was attending to me to work quietly since I thought I knew what I was doing. The touch-up is still missing because I had one eyebrow wider than the other. I hope you can correct the error without having to thicken my eyebrows more. I hope my observation helps you so that the same thing does not happen to you and do not remain silent if you are not satisfied with what you are doing. (Remember that it is on your face)

Les Fohl: I cannot possibly express my overwhelmingly incredible satisfaction with Kaver Dental, located here in San Jose, Costa Rica. And so we are clear, although the name “dental” would naturally appear in the name of anyone running a dentistry operation, these folks are not dentists. Not in the way that most of us usually think when we hear the word dentist. These guys are “cosmetic and restorative specialists.” This is what they are famous for. Do the research and you’ll quickly see that they are within the top two or three cosmetic and restorative dental specialists in this entire country. Let me fill you in with a little bit of my dental background, and what led me here. As a young boy born in 1955, it was not uncommon for mothers (my mom included) to put a bottle of milk into their children’s mouth and let their children fall asleep drinking that milk. Anybody that understands this, knows what happens to the teeth of a young child when the parent does this. Not a good thing. Additionally, I chewed ice and ground my teeth at night pretty much most of my adult life. This was very obvious when I opened my mouth. As a result, I did not have very nice teeth, which obviously means I did not have a smile I was particularly excited about or proud of. In order to address this, in the early 1990s, I had veneers put on my teeth. At that time, of course, technology and materials were different than they are today. Prices, even then, were probably cost prohibitive for most people. I’m certain I spent just over $40,000 on this procedure all of those years ago. But that said, my dentist at that time told me if I took care of my “new”teeth, I could expect them to last for 20 to 30 years. And they did/have. Fast forward to about 2018. My regular dentist, quite the professional herself, told me that it was getting time to really reconsider having my veneers redone. My gums had receded slightly on the bottom, so you can see where the veneer left off in the old tooth began. And there are also a few chips here and there. She would remind me of this every six months when I had my teeth cleaned but I just kept procrastinating. But in October 2021, I finally made the decision that I was ready to get this done. Then, coincidentally, while going about the process to move my life (at least part time)to Costa Rica, I mentioned to a well-connected friend here that I had heard they have great dentistry, especially restorative and cosmetic, and did he know anybody that he could highly recommend. He is highly connected and he said yes, there is only one person you want to see to have these procedures done in Costa Rica… Dr. Luis Kaver and his son Andres. I came in for for a consultation on a Friday, and after seeing the amazingly advanced equipment they had here, the facility, and being able to witness the team vibe going on here, I booked an appointment to start the procedure the following Monday. For the record, they did not reinstall veneers. Quite the opposite. They removed all of the old veneers and, in what I thought was a huge bonus, they even took off the crowns that were less than five years old. Dr. Andres Kaver said doing this would make all of the teeth match perfectly, and they would all be done at the same time. So now, as I get ready to depart San Jose to go back down south to Uvita where I am living, I can honestly say this is the best medical or dental procedure I have experienced in my life. The price was just under half of the lowest bid I received in the United States, but more importantly, watching their hyper-perfectionism, and the amazing way their entire team works together, I am blown away. If you are thinking of going after that smile you’ve always wished you had, I could not give me a higher recommendation to anyone else. If there were a place for more than five stars in this review/recommendation field, they would’ve gotten 100 easily. Great experience!! Les Fohl

Kayleigh Kinsella: While I was skeptical about traveling overseas to have dental work done, the cost in Connecticut was prohibitive. I started researching having work preformed in Costa Rica and Dr. Castro was a orthodontist that had excellent reviews. Both he and his daughter, Juliana, who is also a orthodontist with a degree From Michigan State, gave me piece of mind, the best of care, the dental work i had done was top notch and a reason to smile again! When I had my teeth cleaned back in CT last month, my dentist was quite impressed with the work preformed by Dr. Juliana. If and when I do need further dental work, I will be heading to CLEO to have it done! Oh, and an added bonus? Costa Rica, its people and cuisine make it a great place to visit!

Cliff Johnson: Costa Rica has recently (Sept 1/20) reopened to US visitors from several states. After speaking with Cleo Dental/DR Castro, I decide to go back to continue some dental work started late last year. Everyone from the airline to the Hotel and Cleo Dental were up on safety in a big way. The country of CR requires that you test (PCR test) negative for Covid no more than 72 hrs prior to departure. You are also required to purchase health insurance to cover you while in CR. All of this is entered in to a form that you are required to complete prior to boarding your flight. (the form “Health Pass” is all digital and when completed you receive a QR code that you keep on your phone to be shown at the airport. (even though you fill out the Health Pass, I would still advise that you bring hard copies of your Covid test results and your Insurance contract) My flight was semi-filled. Not every seat was taken and there seemed to be an empty seat between almost everyone. The crew was on top of making sure everyone kept their face covered (except when drinking or eating) All went well on the flights. (both ways) When I got to Costa Rica, I was met at the airport by my driver. He handed me a clean mask and asked me to put it on, disposing of the mask I had worn on the flight. My driver was arranged by Cleo Dental/DR Castro. To minimize my exposure to multiple drivers, Cleo Dental required I use the same driver each day to and from their office. Each time I got in the car, I was provide hand sanitizer and asked to sanitize my hands. When I got to my hotel, I approached the front desk to check in and was immediately asked to step into the adjacent rest room to wash my hands. I then checked in and went on to my room. Given that CR had just opened to US visitors there weren’t many people staying at the hotel. (prior to coming to CR, Cleo/Dr Castro had explained to me that I would need to agree to basically self-isolate at my hotel and not be going out on the town at night. I agreed) The next day, when I arrived at Celo Dental, I noticed that they had white tacky sheet laid across the doorway floor. As I walked across it I could feel a light tackiness. (evidently some sort of sanitizing the soles of your shoes?) Next, I was greeted at the front desk where I was asked to present my prior covid test results and my health insurance contract. Then I was asked the typical series of covid symptom questions, thermal temp scan and blood/oxygen level measured. Each day when I returned, I the same protocol was followed. Everyone from the DRs to staff was wearing masks, face shields and gloves which I noticed were being changed frequently. I was very pleased with the work that was done and I am looking forward to returning to complete my smile work early next year. I wrote this review was to share with others who might be considering a trip to CR for dental work. By keeping in a bubble (limited outside exposure) you can minimized risk. Dr. Castro is interested in working to keep you healthy. In doing so, he is minimizing risk to you, to himself and to his staff. Cleo Dental understands, “we are all in this together”.

Dave Smith: I was terrified about getting so much dental work done. In the states there was no way I could even think about affording all that I needed done. A friend referred me to Dr. Castro. I did my research and started my dental journey in January of 2019. I went back in June to finish up my work. I had 8 implants and 22 caps done. It cost a quarter of the price that it would in the states. As I said I was terrified. I was scared of the work as well as traveling out of the country to have it done. From the moment the plane landed until I got on my flight home I was treated like family. Memo, the dentist’s driver picked me up from the airport and took me to the hotel. The hotel was discounted 40% because I was affiliated with Dr. Castro. The hotel also served special soft meals due to Dr. Castro. I have never met anyone as meticulous as him and his team. Everything had to be perfect or he redid it. I am 51 years old and have had a lot of surgeries. I have never been treated as well as I was there. The whole team is just unbelievable. I can’t say enough good things about every single one of them, especially Dr. Castro and his daughter, who is also a dentist at that office.
