Azotea Calle 7: what do users think?

Andrew Joaquin: We went for sunset and had a great time. Great views of the city, quiet rooftop with light jazz music, food and drinks were tasty, prices are reasonable, and the servers were attentive. The restaurant has a very Parisian feel with the brick flooring and metal tables. Lots of greenery that attracted parrots. Reservations recommended if you want to watch the sunset. The patio was full if you didn’t have resos. Highly recommended!!

Tara S.: From the atmosphere, staffs, quality of food and drinks. All i can say is this is what a true hospitality and quality meets.

Алиса Карасик: Overall decent food, good portions and flavor but avoid churros, they were soggy

Richard Cauchi: We discovered this place from hotel reviews, and visited during our first-night stay. Charming, convenient meals, wine and snacks. The atmosphere was a classic pub, with bar, terrace seating and friendly service. Our light late-evening dinner included Ceviche Maracuya, ($7.40 US)) authentic, fresh and tangy; Empanaditas- 2 at $4 US; glass of Malbec and Cabernet ($6.30 each); Sopes ($7). Very convenient as hotel guests but open to all.

Diego Badilla: Prices are a little expensive, however, food quality is good. This is a nice place to go out in San José downtown, quite and private place. No parking available. The menu is to be honest, reduced.Food: 3/5 | Service: 3/5 | Atmosphere: 3/5 …More

Maggie Macdonald: What a great find, that is a little hard to find. Beautiful view of the city from up here in a little garden. It was raining so we sat inside, still a really cool space. You hear all the church bells ring at just after 5 it is very cool. If you’re looking for this it’s halfway down the block on the left if your walking from Central Ave towards 2! Enjoy!

Jake Waters: Great space, drinks, and cocktails!

Selvatica: what do users think?

Victor: Great bar with great music. Surprisingly found out they had three different drinks based off of fernet, all tasting good. Not too expensive either, in relation to how fancy the place feels.

John Esquivel: Nice rooftop bar with a great view of the city. Initial order took some time but service was great for the remainder of the night. Waitress was awesome...I belive her name was Angie

Anthony Miceli: Sick 4th floor rooftop bar with beautiful views of the city. Their cocktails are quite nice especially their variety of gin & tonics. Even on a Wednesday they had a DJ dropping some sick beats. I give it a solid 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Will Hurst: Will Salazar is a mixologist legend! Good vibes and people. Drinks are on point! Todo bien mae

Jeffrey Burt: The cocktails are amazing and the staff is amazing. Must go when in San Jose. Best Martini in the city. Plus amazing views.

Collin Konja: We went to the Rabbit Hole in the basement with Regatone music and it was nice, but wanted to go to the upstairs to hear the electronic music. Although we were all allowed into the Rabbit Hole, they let my 3 friends in and not me upstairs. I figured that they had a max capacity situation, but when asked, the security pointed at the camera and said "my boss". My friends came over and used a translator to make sure he understood and he simply kept reiterating "my boss"....Thought it might be shirt, but were letting many people in with similar clothes. Was very disappointed with how I was treated for no good reason.

Alta Hotel: what do users think?

Paula Taylor: Alta hotel is a very beautiful property! The views are amazing and the staff very friendly. The rooms are extremely comfortable with large screened French doors that open to a balcony with a table and chairs to enjoy the expansive valley views and sunset. The restaurant has delicious food and cocktails, unlike many other hotel restaurants. The history of the hotel is quite interesting and you can ask the staff who will enthusiastically share the stories with you. There are many fine and historical furnishings around the property and the most magnificent tree and patio to enjoy an after dinner drink or gathering. We have stayed twice and are already planning our next trip!

Jay Tooch: We really enjoyed the one night we stayed here. It’s a beautiful small property. The service was absolutely 6/5 stars. Restaurant was very very good too, both for dinner and the complimentary breakfast. It didn’t necessarily feel like the typical “luxury” experience like a Ritz Carlton, but there wasn’t a single thing to complain about. Recommend.

Jo: The rooms are clean and well furnished but on the small side - there were three of us so we had 2 Queen sized beds in the room. There are no tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Although there is free Expresso machine in the hall, there is no where to make tea, even if you have your own tea bags. The hotel is beautiful with a small garden and pool. The service was excellent.

Wesley Hodges: Beautifully-designed and uber-relaxing hotel just a stones throw from Santa Ana area of San Jose. The layout and location of the hotel doesn’t feel like you’re in the city but most rooms and the restaurant balcony provide nice views of the city (and sunsets). Very comfortable room with a huge bathroom and separate vanity / desk entryway area + a sizable balcony over the pool deck. Great value for the quality of this unpretentious and well-acquainted 4 / 5 star hotel. p.s. the restaurant / bar made leaving the hotel merely optional, but glad we made the 1 mile trip over to Doris Metropolitan for a memorable dinner!

Stéphanie W.: First stop on our arrival in Costa Rica. Very beautiful, cozy and romantic Hotel. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The breakfast is very good, dinner healthy with very fresh products (try the Cevice!!). Great first experience for our 2 nights in San José. We had a room on 2nd floor with pool view with amazing view down on San José! The only negative point here (and the reason why we only gave 4 stars, was the fact that the doors are and windows are not isolated. So we heard very well the dinner in the restaurant (we had room 21) and the party next to the pool. We dis not mind, as we were super tired from the journey. But this could annoy sensitive customers. Otherwise, great experience!

Raque Miranda: The hotel has a nice European style. The views from the balconies are stunning and I think each room has a balcony. They have a parking area, pool and restaurant. The breakfast is delicious as well

Jonathan Hoehn: Lovely boutique hotel and people that work here. Quiet, tranquil, relaxing - I love the pool, lending library and the coffee. Pura Vida!

Megan Gwendolyn Georgieff: My new favourite hotel in San Jose! This place is a mood. Beautiful charming touches , super friendly staff who were very flexible and accommodating to our requests. We will be back :) Thanks for a wonderful stay!Rooms: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Location: 5/5 …More

Garden Bistro: what do users think?

Alejandro Montiel: Located at the heart of a trendy area east of San José, this bistro offers amazing breakfast. I strongly recommend Huevos Rancheros. Quiet atmosphere.

Puuluu Wayan: I walked in this cafe restaurant in a winter afternoon for a cup of coffee. It is a cafe architecturally well designed with touch of classic 60’s ~80’s . For those who are interested in well designed cafe, this is the place to come. However the us$3 coffee was not impressive at all. Posh place for rich to confirm they themselves are affluent. IMAO.

Jay Jamieson: Myself and a few friends found this little spot when wondering around and it was beautiful! Sangria was lovely and the panini sandwich was so tasty. I would recommend this to anyone :)

P Pouls: We loved this restaurant! The atmosphere and service are great. We had the Menu Ejecutivo, and although the portions were very tiny, the taste was delicious. The price was very reasonable. I would definitely recommend it!

oscar morera herrera: The location is maybe one of the best in Escalante. Sunny afternoon, on the terrace with a view of the vibrant France Square is unique. Food is great, service friendly and good prices.

Daniela Mora Rojas: Great food and service. It is expensive but i think it is worth it. We had a lovely dinner, and I would come back.

Michael Rodriguez Mora: Excellent food and a great atmosphere

Fabián Zúñiga Sáenz: Espectacular food. Fair prices. Best in class location and space design.Want more options? Follow me on insta @fabigo87

Restaurante y Mirador Ram Luna: what do users think?

Kristin Flores: The ambiance was great, the food was amazing. The papas bravas were so good. Steaks were cooked perfectly and the potato and veggie sides paired perfectly. I was a little disappointed with how small the flower pot dessert was, next time I’d try something different. Coffee was great! Staff was incredible!

Alisha Maxine: Can’t beat the views. Waiter was awesome and attentive. Great price. Reserve a table so you can have the best seats

Lance Noe: There for an event. The good was great. The party was even better. It was like a fever dream, but fun!

WJ: The scenery was so romantic and beautiful. The food was okay. Vegan options were available.

Big Easy Gates: It took an hour to get to the restaurant up in the hills from San Jose but was worth it. The view alone was amazing, you can see all of San Jose at night. The service was impressive and the menu is substantial and very good. It would be good for a romantic dinner but you need to reserve a table by the windows.

Leo Soto: Great view, good service. Pricy for what it is. Food quality is ok nothing spectacular. Had a churrasco and meat was not as soft as expected.

smaron19: What an Amazing experience. My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary. We got a corner table with a breath taking view and service that was top rated. The ambiance was beautiful. Top Romantic Spot

Casa Reflejos: what do users think?

Robert Szakal: I had a amazing room at Casa Reflejos. It was actually more like a suite or apartment. Extremely spacious. There is a nice pool and hot tub. I found the ladies at the desk to be very friendly and helpful. It is something that I notice when traveling far from home and know no one or nothing. A small nit pick is there is not much in walking distance as far as food and drink. You will have to Uber for your needs. I highly recommend this hotel.

Andrea Seabrook: I always stay here when I’m in San Jose. Lovely people, lovely place. Gorgeous views.

Dustin List: Our room has a Beautiful view of the city and the mountains. Is clean and comfortable, very friendly and helpful staff! Stove, fridge, microwave and all the basic you need for your stay.

Hans Kraakman: Great place to relax . WhatsApp them directly for the best deals . Go for the upper apartments for the best view . The best one bedrooms are apartment 2 and 3 . The place has a steam and regular sauna : try them and then take a dip in cold swimming pool. The service is excellent: they provide coffee, sugar and creamer. The kitchen is well equipped. There is a Fresh Market close by for snacks and drinks. Buy your liquor at the airport when you enter the Country: you pay 2 times as much in the local stores . Uber brings you to this place from the airport for 6100 colones ( $10,- ) and is the best deal around . Again : great place with excellent service

ROBERT HAMILTON: Had planned to stay I night but liked it so much decided to stay an extra night now and am planning to stay 3 more nights later in January 2022Fantastic hosts and accomadation was very clean and tidy as where the pool and surrounding gardens with beautifully plantsHighly Recomend

Hilton San Jose La Sabana: what do users think?

John Shook: My wife and I stayed ten days. The place is nice but the bed was very firm. The food is good but a bit pricey. The place is clean and secure but we did have a morning where the alarms blared waking us up early in the morning. The announcement was only in Spanish so we had no idea what was happening. We immediately got dressed and went down 29 floors only to be told that it was a false alarm. We felt like idiots as we seemed to be the only ones leaving the place We go back to our room and the alarm continues to go off. God forbid something serious happens in this hotel as the staff seemed utterly unconcerned during this situation.

Peter Ku: A little pricy for Costa Rica, but you get what you pay for. Excellent service, great in door pool, great views, and new rooms. As Hilton Gold, the breakfast and lounge are excellent.Rooms: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Location: 5/5 …More

Hotel Grano De Oro: what do users think?

Sarah Leidhold: This is such an incredibly elegant hotel experience. The restaurant is probably the most fancy place I’ve ever dined; I was in complete awe of the architecture and the decor. The food was simply decadent with the best coffee ice cream I’ve ever had. Our room is quaint and cozy with a small garden and fountain outside our window. The employees at the front desk have been incredibly kind and helpful, encouraging me to practice Spanish when we are interacting. There is a gorgeous garden and lavish jacuzzis as well as a gym and a lending library. This is such a fantastic place to stay! I loved it here! Thank you to all the staff for being so kind and helpful.

Gary Young: Fantastic customer service from a historic landmark. Comfortable rooms with unique charm, in this former mansion turned hotel. Some rooms have a private garden, or are in the thick of a gardened courtyard. Relaxing jacuzzi and modest gym on the rooftop with modern feel. Hallways lined with historical photography show earlier eras of the country. The restaurant is high end cuisine, and accommodated dietary constraints (gluten, dairy, and peanut free).

Gabo: This place has been around for several decades and it is one of the best all around hotels in the Central Valley, and probably the only truly good option in the Paseo Colon area. The restaurant is top notch. Don’t miss the macadamia crusted sea bass.

Tim Anslow: Conveniently located hotel rich in character with friendly and helpful staff always available to assist guests. Served as a great start and finish location for our tour of such a beautiful and diverse country.Rooms: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Location: 5/5 …More

Adventure Inn Hotel: what do users think?

Rachel Owen: My husband and I stayed at Adventure Inn 3 nights during our 2 week trip to Costa Rica (first night, last night and a middle night). The Inn is fabulous! All the staff from the front desk to the kitchen and the shuttle drivers are so friendly and helpful. The hotel is immaculate and decorated in a tropical theme, so nice in comparison to chain hotels. We took advantage of having them set up our shuttles to different locations and also reserve a 3 day tour. Everything flowed so smoothly, I wish I had known they offered this service and utilized them for our entire trip. Both Eric and Nan went above and beyond communicating with and helping me organize our trip. Having stayed in so many hotels that advertise a ‘breakfast buffet’ I did not expect much but theirs is delicious! There are multiple tropical fruits to choose from along with made to order various breakfast plates, not at all a typical hotel buffet’. It really does feel like an ‘Inn’, such a great place to stay at, truly a bargain for what you get for the price. We cannot recommend highly enough!

Juliana B: Everything was perfect for our stay! We had 12 people all arriving on separate flights at different times and they all had a taxi waiting for them when they arrived. Every part of the hotel from the rooms to the restaurant was very clean and in excellent condition. The beds and pillows are super comfortable. We ate all our meals at the restaurant and everything was delicious, including the free buffet breakfast. The real highlight though is the staff. They were friendly and helpful, and went beyond our expectations in every respect. Thank you for a great stay!

Jennifer Monk: This is our favorite place to stay when in San Jose. Have stayed a variety of places and this is where we will stay every time now!! The staff are amazing. You really feel nurtured and taken care of when you come here. The pool is great and they even have a heated tub as it dies get chilly sometimes when in San Jose. Better service than just about anywhere where we live in Colorado. Will be returning again and again. Beautiful Costa Rican style hotel.

Marn-Yee Lee: Love the murals decorating all the walls here, both in the common spaces and our room. Facility is a bit dated but overall comfortable for relaxing before our flight. The restaurant on site is excellent with a quirky atmosphere. Definitely not five star fancy but the nice homey atmosphere and friendly staff made our stay pleasant.

Sharon VanDam: We have stayed here many times and have enjoyed our stay every time. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant is excellent. The rooms are quiet and comfortable. The pool is very nice. The hotel is great and not your usual chain hotel which is nice.Rooms: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Location: 5/5 …More

Makai Adventures: We flew into SJO after sunset and spent our friend night at Adventure Inn. It is very close to Alamo Car Rental, very clean, friendly staff, and felt very safe. The food at the restaurant is delicious! My 2 & 4 year old loved the pool and my husband and I enjoyed fantastic margaritas in the jacuzzi. Gracias Adventure Inn! Also- Eric was so easy to communicate with and fast to respond while planning our trip.

Rafa Ortiz: Perfect hotel for the start or end of your trip, in Costa Rica. Vry close to the airport but far enough to feel you are already in the city (i think the ride was like 10min from the airport). Plenty of tours to choose from that will allow you to cross the best sightseeing and fun activities off your list. Staff is extremely helpful and service is awesome. Food and smothies excellent. And very reasonable procong. Would recommend this hotel 100%

Alonna Dawes: I recently took a trip to Costa Rica with six other individuals. My travel agent, All Around Travel, LLC, found Adventure Inn and from visiting their website, I loved the paintings on the walls and that the rooms included free breakfast. Now if you want an American hotel, Adventure Inn is not American. Some of my friends wanted things that American’s provide in their hotel. However, I wanted to be in a local hotel to get the experience. Adventure Inn does not have refrigerators or microwaves in each room. You can rent a mini-fridge each day for $5.00 (five American dollars) a day. One of my friends brought his left over dinner to the hotel. Once he wanted to reheat his leftovers, he took them to the front desk and a hotel employee put them in the microwave for him. The hotel employees were always so welcoming and friendly. I looked for restaurants online but wanted to double check with them to make sure these restaurants were good. Some of the restaurants the hotel employees never heard of so I went with their suggestions. They suggested El Porton Rojo, El Novillo Alegre Escazu, Los Antojitos, and C Lounge – Cariari and these restaurants were all so good. My friends and I really enjoyed them and came home full. Some were in walking distance of the hotel, others we had to catch an Uber for these restaurants. The free breakfast at Adventure Inn, inside Moon Glow Bar and Grill was good. Most mornings I ordered the tourist, eggs your choice, house fries, bacon and bread. Sometimes I wished they gave me two pieces of bacon. However, if I wanted more bacon, I could of just paid for the extra piece of bacon. I didn’t use their gym however, they do have some workout machines. Adventure Inn is a great hotel and the hotel employees are always very helpful. One night when we were waiting on our Uber. Ducks walked into the hotel. A hotel employee had to get them out of the hotel. I thought it was funny.

Brooke McIntosh: Couldn’t recommend more. Super super helpful staff, amazing breakfast, very comfy beds, handy to the airport. Beyond helpful with a last min booking, late night cold beer (very important after flight troubles lol), troubles with my own cell phone. Above and beyond at every step. Will be staying again!

Hotel and Casino Taormina San Jose: what do users think?

Mark Flierl: Their laundry service is a total ripoff. They charge 5 US dollars for a tee shirt. The rooms are also very noisy. If your a smoker, the only place to smoke is the sidewalk. You will be constantly hasseled by bums.

Andre Menezes: Great place. Not for families! The staff were friendly and helpful.Rooms: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Location: 5/5 …More

Bob Costa: The new bar is the best designed one in Costa Rica

Sam Hernandez: Nice and cozy hotel. You can see they have to tried to make modern updates. Casino was a good time and the bar had plenty of eye candy!! Location great as well. All the food I had from the restaurant to the bar was excellent!! No complaints from at all for this hotel.

Peter Figueras: I stayed here in April what a bad decision. The first night I got there at three in the morning I had one of the staff members try to open my door. When I had called down to the front desk they apologized and said that they had sent the staff up to the wrong room. I was fine with it because I know everyone makes mistakes. This was just the beginning however. Most of the staff was really pleasant to deal with. There was one front desk lady that was completely and utterly disrespectful and rude. I stayed there for almost two weeks in total. Items were missing from my room from some staff members presumably taking them. When I got back to the states I had discovered that they had defrauded my credit card for $130. The money means nothing to me the principle of them stealing from me is what bothers me. Do yourself a favor and find another place in San Jose if you want to have a no hassle no problem stay.

Villa San Ignacio / Restaurante Pandora: what do users think?

Steve Meyer: We were here celebrating our 50th anniversary. The moment we arrived in this quaint, romantic, and peaceful Villa we were made to feel special by Sergio. The suite was beautiful and romantic with so much ambiance. Lunch, dinner and then breakfast were all fresh, delicious with beautiful presentations by Oscar. Thomas happily assisted us with our champagne celebration and later introduced us to Rita, the resident paw baby. Thank you all for making our special day PERFECT. We live here in Costa Rica and will most certainly be coming back to Villa San Ignacio.

Fiona Dunkerley: Arrived after a late flight, check in was quick and easy. The room was fine for 1 night after a long flight. We had one of the rooms at the back by the main road so was quite noisy. Breakfast was great on the terrace with a choice from the menu.

Marco Mancinetti: This was the first stop of our trip and it couldn’t have been better: we had a big room, huge bathroom and a nice place to apprehend our jet leg. As a family with 2 kids (7 and 10) we did appreciate the big pool, the many common places and the big park to play around. A special thank to all the staff and Sergio that helped us arrange our transfers and was always kind. Pura Vida, take care

lizzfrmhon: It’s a cute 3 star hotel near town but it’s like a little oasis around the tambor area. The rooms could use a small armchair to have a comfortable sitting area. And coffee or minibar in the room would go a lot way to improve guest experience. Additionally y recommend the hotel to expand its menu. The breakfast menu is very limited so after 3 nights there it started to get old. Otherwise it’s a very nice boutique style hotel with gorgeous grounds full of nature and Costa Rican style artesanal rooms. The bed was super comfy which is one of the most important things to me. This place only needs a few improvements to make it stellar.

Marthe SJ: My partner and I had the most fantastic time at this beautiful hotel. Superb beds and very charming decor, tho our waitress Angie was so fabolous and made our stay very special.Rooms: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Location: 5/5 …More

Joe Christopher: We were shopping in the area and stopped here for a late lunch and WOW the food was amazing and the surrounding area was beautiful! Definitely recommend the restaurant!

Tara & Lady Bird the Dog: Little gem outside of airport. We have loved our stay at the Villa San Ignacio. We got the massive king bed room with expansive deck and views. Nice pool area. The staff is friendly and engaging, and the food is really quite good! A coffee maker in the room was the only thing missing.Rooms: 4/5 | Service: 5/5 | Location: 4/5 …More

Hannah Dupont: My family and I stayed at Villas San Ignacio for 3.5 days at the end of our two weeks Costa Rica trip. Villas San Ignacio is a safe blissful oasis in the middle of the bustling city. The rooms were clean and provided just what we needed. The trails, gardens, and views are breathtaking. We stayed on the grounds the majority of the time and enjoyed the beautiful pool and outdoor/indoor restaurant area. Jorge, the waiter, took care of us at every meal. He is personable, attentive, and provides warm hospitality during every meal. Though the food options were slightly limited, everything was delicious, including the cocktails. Our 6 and 3 year old daughters loved staying there - the Villas are very child friendly. If and when we come back to Costa Rica, we will definitely stay at the Villas again!
