Gwen lezcano: I have been able to visit this restaurant on several occasions and the food is excellent, I love its atmosphere and the music. One point in favor of this restaurant is that the food is halal and that the restaurant is quite clean, I have not yet found a place where they have a better falafel than here. 5 stars fall short for this place.

Amanda Banks (AmandaWorld): Excellent food for a great price. The staff here are kind and welcoming. There are a decent amount of vegan options to choose from, and they provide menus in both Spanish and English. The inside is a small, intimate space and can get busy on weekend evenings. They offer takeout (but no delivery), which is awesome...especially if you live close by like me! Highly recommended.

Rahul Kurup: Nice ambiance. Not too pricey and friendly staff. Love the Lebanese food and I was craving for it after meeting few folks from Lebanon and taking about food. Read about this place in a book. Ordered Muhammara (love it ), hummus, baba ganoush. Falafel. We had a live belly dance performance as well.

I have been travelling with my 20 years old son for two weeks , Panama and San jose and we are so happy to discover this place at our last two days.
Sarah Spinelli: Excellent dining experience with Mediterranean flair. They specialize in lamb dishes, but don’t be surprised- the swordfish kebab is absolutely incredible. The sangria is a lovely blend, and they did a good mojito for my partner. We started with hummus, goat cheese, and the seared tuna salad. For dinner, I got the eggplant wrapped lamb shoulder, and partner got the lamb burgers and swordfish. All in all, everything was fresh and delicious. Our server was very accommodating as well - I’m mildly dangerous with Spanish and he took good care to ensure we had everything we needed. Great little spot in Escalante!
suites montreal: As of a Turkish origin person, I was impressed with the quality of the food, the design of the restaurant, and the quality of service. It was beyond my expectation. I am proud of these guys that they present Turkish cuisine in an excellent ambiance with excellent quality service. I can recommend anyone, excellent food, at a reasonable price.
Viviane Langner: I was there yesterday with a larger group. The atmosphere of the restaurant was nice, but the staff was completely disorganized and rather unprofessional, it took long to receive the first drinks, the portions (of the main courses) were small and the quality of the food was pretty bad (for everyone in our group - we ordered different dishes), while the prices are high (same or higher as where I live in Europe). Would definitely not recommend this place to anyone.
Hung Tran: Great service and very friendly! One of the best restaurant in San Jose! The man spoke and gave us best advices about the food in English! Everything was delicious. We are surprised because with this service, the restaurant was not loaded with customer!
Daniel Vroman Rusteen: Best vanilla ice cream in Costa Rica! It tastes doughy and delicious. Salmon, cured in house, was fantastic. A large portion of Greek olives. Nice relaxed atmosphere. Service is a bit slow so come to relax a bit.

Ciao Bella: Most people have a misconception of Indian food being over spiced but this location did an amazing job balancing the spice in the food; and the service was excellent and makes you feel very welcomed. Coleman- O'Callaghan: We ate here for the first time and loved it. The waiter spoke English and Spanish and is actually from Delhi India. We got several dishes. All were hot and fresh. We speak English and had a great conversation with the waiter.

I had heard good things from others who were staying in town and I’m so glad we made the quick trip there while we were staying at intercontinental in San Jose. The spice level was adjusted for me as a first timer, everything that was recommended was so much better than I could have ever imagined. This is a MUST if you’re in San Jose! We will be back!!! Also it was Diwali and they had everything lit up and let us do some fireworks while they cooked our food! So much attention to detail in every way! Mihir Gupta: Everything from the tandoor was delicious! The cooks and the servers are mostly from India and do a great job. Our server Pooran Singh promptly served our food when we informed we were in a rush to catch a flight. Peacocks in the attached garden are a bonus!

THE Vindaloo King: Wonderful experience and ambiance. Covers outdoor and indoor dining options with a grass yard and at least one peacock. Awesome, unique experience. Fabulous variety of Tika’s including pepper and mint. Also maybe 12-15 different naan’s. All good. 5-star restaurant but Vindaloo was not exceptional.

Sreedevi Chandran: Taj Mahal offers a sumptuous feast to both eyes and stomach. The restaurant was adorned with a lot of Art, Statues and Furniture that expresses the values , traditions and cultures of INDIA. Most enticing were the Peacocks that put together a spectacular display while we enjoyed our food.

Michael Teicheira: A beautiful restaurant with solid food. Overall, our service wasn’t very good. We didn’t see our server again after we received our food, and we had to go find him to pay. We would’ve enjoyed getting some more water and maybe ordering some drinks, but he never came back. Overall the food was pretty good, but it wasn’t amazing. Our beef kebab was a bit dry and tough.
Abby Shih: Great, authentic Lebanese food. We got the platter for two, which fed three people. The kunafa dessert was not traditional, but tasted fine. Also got to talk to the general manager, who was very friendly!

Restaurant Critic: This place is in the middle of barrio escalante. A little Lebanon in the middle of san jose costa rica. The good is great. The service is awesome. The owner and chef came to greet me personally and explain to me the menu. Some stuff are a just as authentic as back home and like my moma used to make them. Others have a twist and it is artistic and delicious twist. This place is a must try. And i highly recommend coming from a Lebanese guy. What you see in the pictures are the mezza for 2 which includes almost everything on the menu from appetizer to entree. You get to try everything Lebanese in one hit and they are small portions enough for 2. By the time the entrées came, we were stuffed. Literally a lot of food all together. We also ordered the knefe and the coffee. The coffee is spot on.
V to the V: This place had a great atmosphere and service. The dishes did not taste authentically spiced and what they call “Qnefe”/Künefe is anything but, it’s more of a flan instead of the shredded wheat desert with melted cheese and syrup it should be.

So when I had my first bite here I was actually emotional… lol The flavors are authentic, delicious and everything is cooked to perfection. The service was attentive and on point, too. The food reminds me of India, and don’t tell my mom, but I don’t think I’ve had better food outside Indian food, outside of India. Bonus: there’s Bollywood music playing and the decor is lovely. Micky Riddell: Outstanding food, large portions and great service. One of the best Indian curries we have had for a long time. Good range of choices on the menu, including vegetarian 🌱. Ashley Minyard: I had a wonderful lunch and the service was exceptional. The décor is modern and gorgeous. It is a little pricey and the items are all a la carte even the rice. Maybe they can eventually offer smaller lunch plates with a main and some rice. Oh the mint sauce is very flavorful and complemented the food I ordered really well.

Velvet Salas: Since 2002 this restaurant has not lost its essence! It’s a delicious experience you deserve, so go ahead and visit either of the locations or order uber eats. The Taj Majhal NEVER disappoints!! We absolutely love to eat here and it’s my favorite restaurant!! Five star quality every time!!

P P: This is one of the best Indian restaurants we have been to. The food was excellent and the location was very convenient. It is very beautifully decorated. Our stay in Costa Rica was made even more pleasant by their hospitality and food. Their staff was courteous and pleasant. They went out of their way to make us feel at home and couple of times made dishes that were not on the menu as we were missing home food. Krishna and few other in the staff always tried their best to treat us as family and chef Gabbar did his best to make dishes to our taste. Over all a very pleasant experience and made our stay extra special. We highly recommend this place.

Solly M: Very, very overpriced for small portions - chicken wrap was okay but the hummus and wrap was pretty tasteless.

Geovanny Fallas: The truth is that I was a little uncertain about the rating, but it is highly recommended, the delicious flavor. If it is true that perhaps the portions are tight and that there is only one person serving, but we must be able to understand the current situation, we cannot be so intolerant of this. Good attention and very tasty food.
Gilbert Marquez: In all honesty the worst shawarma I have ever eaten in my life. At first they were delivered to me completely cold. I returned them to be reheated. Then in terms of quality and taste really disappointing. I do not recommend it.

Luis Cordero: A few months ago I tried it and I liked it, good quality and quite a lot, yesterday 08/12/2020 I ordered again hoping to have the same experience and it was not like that, very small, few ingredients and no flavor, it tasted like pure garlic. the truth is disappointed.

Julia Zanon: What a tasty experience! We were craving some Indian Food after watching "The Hundred-Foot Journey" and this was the first place that popped up after a quick google search. It had great reviews so we were keen to check it out. The whole experience was wonderful from start to end. We were greeted and taken care of extremely well by the staff. Service was outstanding thanks to Amrit! The food was so authentic and really delicious!!! The restaurant is beautifully decorated and very traditional. Will definitely be returning if we ever come back to San Jose. Thanks again for a great meal and evening :)

Kate Hayward: So good. We had the veggie samosas, chicken Tikka Masala and the coconut stuffed Naan. We ordered the Tikka masala with medium heat which was perfect. Everything was well prepared as were the three chutneys they brought to the table. The extra one, the spicey, was scotch bonnet hot. This is a place to bring a crowd so that you can share dishes. There were many on the menu that I wanted to try. I never seem to get photos of the actual meals because I become entranced when they arrive. Ah well.
