El Sótano: what do users think?

Tan Bass: Very hip spot in San Jose. Live music venue with the koolest decor and a proper restaurant.

William Ramirez: Excellent music, super cool jams, great cozy environment. Go on Mondays.

Terence Madigan: We like to go on Monday nights when they have a Blues Band downstairs. New to me is that they invite musicians to play with them, one at a time, for two songs.

Alonso Guerrero: Nice place to chill, needs more places to sit. Perfect for small music activities. No parking.

Angel Ivanov: A very nice place with live music, great events and workshops. Offers a very good set of craft beers.

Luis Alamilla: Great little place... Convinient for the younger crowed especially if you like rock music

Francisco Sanchez: I was there on Wednesday 10/17 and I ran into very bad service, the beers started to be sold late and somewhat hot, there was no food service. The place is very nice, this house really has an incredible charm. But it seems to me that Amón Solar is already closing it.

Jazz Café: what do users think?

Jose Pablo Monge: This is always the Go to Place for live shows in Costa Rica. I just wish food was a little better. Is not bad in any way but I just wish it was better. Probably good for snacks but not for a dinner with live music. Overall a great place. Keep in mind that if there is a big event, you will have to park on a lot near by. So make sure to bring cash.

Don Raja Elvis: Superb Place...Good Service and High Class Live Music...Bands from all over the world are playing here! Apart from that acoustic in the hall is excellent...and this so called Café is a concert hall which is decorated and built in very special way!

Jose Carranza: Best venue for live music in Costa Rica, food is too expensive and not good enough though.

Yader Wizard: Excellent show, good place, great place to enjoy...

Roberto Truque: One of the few great live performance bars in Costa Rica. It has a three story structure that looks down on a simple central stage. Food isn’t that great. Also, parking spaces are quite limited and chances are you will have to end up street parking.

Manuel Rios: A great place in San Jose, Costa Rica to listen live music 🎶

Andrés Avila: Horrible place, super expensive, food was okish but too small a portion, a couple of seats were open and me and my friend went over, we were told off by one of the staff, probably saving seats for their friends, overall 1/10, never going back

Terence Madigan: My 1st time back to the Jazz Café, Escazu, in over a year and it was great. We saw a Pink Floyd tribute band, they were awesome. A few of us had the chicken wings, they were overcooked but okay.

Clay Akins: Overall great atmosphere. Sound quality was top notch and the band they had performing kept the crowd entertained with great worship music. The lighting was dark but very aesthetic. I had the mozzarella sticks and they were decent.

Kevin “Blank” Jimenez: Great ambiance, food is good. The live show depends a lot on who is playing.

Javier Segura: Very open and with good air place, the menu is fine because you have options for diferent budgets.Really liked the hamburgers.

Nathan Yagi-Stanton: We came in for St. Patrick’s Day and even though the place was absolutely packed they were still extremely efficient at serving everyone and keeping the place clean! We ordered some chips for a snack with our beers and they were somehow able to find us in the thick crowd and served us hot, filling potato wedges with a delicious curry ketchup. We saw a number of burgers come out of the kitchen that looked incredible. Will have to come back and try one!

Central Pub: what do users think?

FElix Leer: This has become one of my favorite places to visit, live music, great ambience! Great food!

Jorge C: This used to be a great place to eat and have a drink, one of my favourites to be honest. Unfortunately the quality of the food has really dropped down and the prices gone to the roof. Today I went with my girlfriend and we both were really disappointed since the fries with chiken that used to be great were really awful and expensive, the drinks smaller and more expensive, even the pizza, which used to be in my opinion one of the best in the country, is definitely not the same...

Sukh Vairea: Bartender was very rude. Maybe he should get a job where he does not need to interact with humans. Had to walk out of this place. By far the poorest service in San Jose. Try Ozzys around the corner - much better vibe and friendly staff.

LeRoi Mendez: Awesome place! Concert was incredible!

Etienne Rene Clercx: Place is small & quaint. Does have that European pub feel. However practically no parking, lousy service and food was expensive for what it is. Everyone loves the fries however they are just store-bought frozen seasoned potato wedges... Good but nothing to brag about in my opinion. Nice for a few drinks if you are on foot in the area

Angela Selseth: Excellent service our waitress was fantastic. As tourists she was all about serving us. She was very attentive and exceeded our expectations. Food was excellent. Fish tacos were the best. Great pizza and quesadilla. A bit spendy, but food and service are top notch. Visited March 16 about 7pm

Bar Rest. Malibu: what do users think?

Jeff Barrett: I stopped by this place Sept. 2018. Actually it was Costa Rica Independence day......Very welcoming to tourists, locals and expats. Cheap beer, good prices, kinda of a local dive bar vibe, but felt safe and welcomed. Will Return!!

Kat M: Amazing local bar friendly for tourists, I had so much fun! Cool music selection (I mean 60-90s hits appeal to me way more than latino style so I was delighted). Beer is cheap, bar food nice, you can watch street views/ sport channels/ music videos pick up your fav! Stuff is lovely, I felt very welcomed at 1st night and warmly greeted next day that I stepped in again :) oh man I love Pura Vida ♡

Michael Irvine: Best bar in San Jose! Great atmos, lovely bunch of people

Dalila Aguilar: Awesome bar! Not very touristy late at night, so I loved it! the bar tender was great, very nice & fast.

Nigel Jones-Morris: Covid rules were respected, very good service, I would have rated them higher if there was a larger selection of beers.

Micheal Murphy: Great small place to be. Has a local Tico vibe even though many Americans go there.

Tim Wojeski: The Malibu is a great neighborhood bar that reminds you of the places back home. Good food, good music, and friendly people. A nice place to relax with some old friends or meet new ones. Two for one drinks start in the early afternoon and the chef offers an excellent "plato del dia" if you want a bite to eat. Just a 5 minute walk from the Holiday Inn.
