Jazz Café: what do users think?

Jose Pablo Monge: This is always the Go to Place for live shows in Costa Rica. I just wish food was a little better. Is not bad in any way but I just wish it was better. Probably good for snacks but not for a dinner with live music. Overall a great place. Keep in mind that if there is a big event, you will have to park on a lot near by. So make sure to bring cash.

Don Raja Elvis: Superb Place...Good Service and High Class Live Music...Bands from all over the world are playing here! Apart from that acoustic in the hall is excellent...and this so called Café is a concert hall which is decorated and built in very special way!

Jose Carranza: Best venue for live music in Costa Rica, food is too expensive and not good enough though.

Yader Wizard: Excellent show, good place, great place to enjoy...

Roberto Truque: One of the few great live performance bars in Costa Rica. It has a three story structure that looks down on a simple central stage. Food isn’t that great. Also, parking spaces are quite limited and chances are you will have to end up street parking.

Manuel Rios: A great place in San Jose, Costa Rica to listen live music 🎶

Andrés Avila: Horrible place, super expensive, food was okish but too small a portion, a couple of seats were open and me and my friend went over, we were told off by one of the staff, probably saving seats for their friends, overall 1/10, never going back

Terence Madigan: My 1st time back to the Jazz Café, Escazu, in over a year and it was great. We saw a Pink Floyd tribute band, they were awesome. A few of us had the chicken wings, they were overcooked but okay.

Clay Akins: Overall great atmosphere. Sound quality was top notch and the band they had performing kept the crowd entertained with great worship music. The lighting was dark but very aesthetic. I had the mozzarella sticks and they were decent.

Kevin “Blank” Jimenez: Great ambiance, food is good. The live show depends a lot on who is playing.

Juan Vasquez: Of all the clubs and bars in San Jose. Antik is the one i most frequent. Great atmosphere, regaeton up stairs Lounge in the middle floor to cool off, and techno all night long until 6 am downstairs. I freaking love this place Must have went atleast 40 times this year or more.

Merlina Padma: Really nice and very secure place! A beer could be between $4 to $3. Bathrooms are clean, and the events are totally awesome :)

Caro Rodriguez: Great party ambient, either latin with reggeaton and dem bow or electronic music, always a good selection of DJs to turn up the audience and sync in great energy.

Fernando Barboza: Solid club. Two dance rooms featuring different music one upstairs and one in the basement level. Beautiful building. Clean facilities

David Cedeño: Beautiful building at the heart of San José, I would love to see it open more often.

luciano unfried: The place is beatifull Nice place for drink and something listen music in live

robert wood: Pretty good food...not crowed on saturday night when I went..probably note a few working women present but not a bother...

John Rothwell: Low drink prices, friendly staff, good music.

Tory Paez: Definitely a pick-up bar. The bartender and staff were actually super nice, but prices for beer and food were pretty outrageous! 2000 colones for a Pilsen is crazy!

Vitaly Sklar: Good times. Rock and roll.

Kelly Allison: Great bartender veronica

Philip Clarke: My wife and I went to this bar for live music on a Wednesday evening. Live music started after 10 pm, with a ten piece Latin band called Son Mayor. I have to say that the band were absolutely fantastic, with a wide range of Son, Salsa, Merengue, and Bachata. We spent a truly memorable night of great music. The staff in Key Largo are very friendly. However, just be aware that there are a lot of working girls.

Wilkcr: what do users think?

Jessica Bland: We came a bit earlier in the day after they’d opened to sample some of the craft brews! They had a great local selection, and reminded us a lot of our local taproom at home in Denver. Bar staff was great! We also had a burger and tenders, and were pretty happy with the food choices. We’d definitely come again!

Nathan Yagi-Stanton: Excellent selection of beers, they even brew their own. The best way to try a bunch is to order a beer flight. Good bar food options at reasonable prices and amazing mural art work throughout.

Steven: The vibes in this place are fantasticThis has a Prague 17th century vibe, you feel like you are drinking a lovely variety of local Costa Rican craft beer in a wine cellar, much is gracias

Jim Platner: Tasty in house brewed beers and good pizza! Great service, cool atmosphere.

Stephen Cortes: We came here for drinks after dinner here in the Escalante neighborhood. Great drinks and super friendly staff. We watched an NBA game here and is probably the best place we have found for watching sports. It appeared that a lot of locals frequent here. We went back on another night and it was just as much fun. We did not try the food, but I would like to the next time I’m in town because it looked and smelled delicious

Bar Rest. Malibu: what do users think?

Jeff Barrett: I stopped by this place Sept. 2018. Actually it was Costa Rica Independence day......Very welcoming to tourists, locals and expats. Cheap beer, good prices, kinda of a local dive bar vibe, but felt safe and welcomed. Will Return!!

Kat M: Amazing local bar friendly for tourists, I had so much fun! Cool music selection (I mean 60-90s hits appeal to me way more than latino style so I was delighted). Beer is cheap, bar food nice, you can watch street views/ sport channels/ music videos pick up your fav! Stuff is lovely, I felt very welcomed at 1st night and warmly greeted next day that I stepped in again :) oh man I love Pura Vida ♡

Michael Irvine: Best bar in San Jose! Great atmos, lovely bunch of people

Dalila Aguilar: Awesome bar! Not very touristy late at night, so I loved it! the bar tender was great, very nice & fast.

Nigel Jones-Morris: Covid rules were respected, very good service, I would have rated them higher if there was a larger selection of beers.

Micheal Murphy: Great small place to be. Has a local Tico vibe even though many Americans go there.

Tim Wojeski: The Malibu is a great neighborhood bar that reminds you of the places back home. Good food, good music, and friendly people. A nice place to relax with some old friends or meet new ones. Two for one drinks start in the early afternoon and the chef offers an excellent "plato del dia" if you want a bite to eat. Just a 5 minute walk from the Holiday Inn.

Apotecario: what do users think?

Tom Bombadill: The burgers and beers here are the best thing that can happen to you in San Jose. Such an incredible experience I wish I could get a flight back and go again! The meat is more tender the voice of Frank Sinatra who serenades you gently in the background of the restaurant. My girlfriend got the falafel salad and it was fresh and perfectly seasoned. Everything handmade. They even have local sour beers that are top quality. Incredible service.

Alondra Espino: We had a great time at this place. Came for a late breakfast and it was delicious. The place is large and beautiful. We came on a Tuesday and it was empty. Staff was friendly. Mimosas were so good. Highly recommend

Anny: Been here twice already in one week. Had The vegetarian burger, Mediterranean sandwich, and honey kombucha. All super delicious and healthy ingredients. Great service and great vibe. Funky decors too. Happy new year everyone!

Sarah Spinelli: Absolutely wonderful experience. The atmosphere is charming with some true apothecary roots and vibe. There are plants hanging from the ceiling in the skylights, the bar is always busy, and the food is incredible. The jazz music playing over the speakers is perfection and really goes with the ambiance. Such a lovely Saturday night experience! If you enjoy adult beverages, get the Penicilina and get your camera ready. Won’t spoil the surprise, but that’s really neat. Go eat and drink here - you won’t regret it.

Luis Diego Pacheco: Great place for a lovely evening! The food is delicious, the service is friendly and the prices are fair.Fully recommended! 😋

Natalia Gómez: Food here is amazing, fast service. Coffee is delicious and staff is very friendly. I am definitely coming back!

Mackenzie Trice: Absolutely fantastic Cocktails and food! Our waiter was great and gave us great drink recommendations with our food.

Shelby Roquemore: We love this place! They are pet friendly, drinks are wonderful, food is great, atmosphere on point, but their biggest asset is their waitstaff! Bryan is so kind, knowledgeable, and funny. This is one of my favorite places in all of Costa Rica!

Jenia Cheng: We ordered a matcha latte and passion fruit cheesecake. The matcha latte was sweet and bitter just the flavor you would expect from matcha latte, cheesecake was light, sour and sweet with a nice consistency. The service was good, the waiters are attentive, always serving us water whenever we ran short of it. We still have to try their brunch and more options from their menu. Prices are just the average prices you will expect to find in Barrio Escalante.

Aris Alexandra - Wise Wellness Co.: I love this place! It’s not only in a super cute and modern food park but the food and smoothies here are delicious! Great quality and healthy options! Also love that they have Cider options for drinks since I have to eat gluten free. I’ll definitely be coming back here next time I’m in San Jose!

Fernando Gutierrez: Last Friday I bought two drinks on promotion, when doing so the person told me that they would be at the same price until 08:00 pm, however, when I returned to buy again before the indicated time (at 07:55 pm), the man did not He wanted to sell them to me at the same price because "on his watch" I had passed the time, after showing him what the correct time was from my cell phone (which is always the correct time because it is impossible to adjust), he did not want to accept his mistake and continued trying to sell me the drink at a higher price to which I refused, for having wanted to steal from me in front of my own eyes and by wanting to do so not realizing that he was not only losing a sale, but also a client who always bought there, they will never receive a five from me again, be careful so that they do not try to do the same to you!!!.

Jose Manuel Cabral (Pepe): The food is good, but the speed of service has a lot to improve. Waiting times of over an hour to serve a cold sandwich are not normal. In my case it was 70 minutes. They are very friendly and the food may be worth it, but I recommend avoiding coming to this place on days when they are busy.

Jorge Villafranca: very good service they treated me the most excellent food very good ceviche

Daniela Torres: The food is divine, the best attention and a super cool atmosphere 😬🤟🏼

Video Upload: The worst service, the food tastes like old oil and grease.

Eduardo Zamora: Excellent flavor!!!

Memorias Restaurant & Lounge: what do users think?

Mauricio Navarro: Cozy little restaurant with a hipster-ish vibe, reasonable prices and good views of the antique train station’s customs building. Only thing is, the train goes by it constantly and if you’re not a fan of loud noises, you may want to visit late at night or in the afternoon.

Christopher McKinnon: Cute little restaurant with very friendly staff and very reasonable prices. I had the plata del dia and it was delicious! Highly recommend.

Costa Rebel: Level!!!!

Hugo Quesada: Good food, affordable prices, excellent service, very relaxing

Esteban Masís: LOUD ATTENTION! They offered us something to drink up to 15 minutes after arriving. When we asked for the drinks the owner forgot we asked for a Canada Dry and he asked us twice. They had no beef or chicken. They offered fish fingers which they brought 45 minutes later. We called a waiter and he arrived 30 minutes later (when he had already "taken care of the owner"). Nobody ever apologized. They came out with the story that they had been full but the place did not look that way.

Javier Rojas: We arrived and they told us that the bucket was worth 7,000 and when we took it they said that this price was in cash and since it was with a card, it cost 8,400.

Iván Gómez (Químico): Very rich.

Mayte Chaves: very nice atmosphere

Mariano Araya Salas: strawberry

El Social: what do users think?

A B: Randomly stopped by to grab a drink in the rain with no expectations, turned out to be the best spot for cocktails and craft beer. Even got a complimentary shot on the house. Hip atmosphere, great service, definitely recommend to stop here for their specialty cocktails.

C L: Waited over 35 minutes for somebody to take my drink order. They simply didn’t seem to care that I was there. Never actually received a drink. They took my friends drink order when we came in and sat down and then just walked away. There were three employees standing around the computer the entire time we were there. No service whatsoever. Definitely will be spending my money someplace where people care . On the flip side, great ambiance and decor. Too bad nobody wants to work.

D Bo: Without a doubt, some of the best drinks I’ve ever had! The Tamarindo with the freshly smoked rosemary was simply outstanding!!

Rachael Decker: This place is perfect! Fun music, awesome drinks, and great prices! Came here for a late night bite and drink. We enjoyed the atmosphere on the edge of a beautiful the park. Bartender was super friendly and everyone was super nice!

We ordered some chips for a snack with our beers and they were somehow able to find us in the thick crowd and served us hot, filling potato wedges with a delicious curry ketchup. We saw a number of burgers come out of the kitchen that looked incredible. Will have to come back and try one!
