Amon Solar: what do users think?

Fabián Zúñiga Sáenz: Nice place for music events

Keyla Castro: Great party!

Alonso Garita: Awesome cozy place, youll find great people there

Daniela Rodríguez Minsky: Love dancing lindy hop here

Olivia McCarthy: Cute little spot.

Kenth Rowland: It was great!!

Luis Cerdas: Beautiful!

WATO CORP: Casa Patrimonio in good condition, events with alternative music, moderate prices and friendly service.

Francisco Sanchez: I was there on Wednesday 10/17 and I ran into very bad service, the beers started to be sold late and somewhat hot, there was no food service. The place is very nice, this house really has an incredible charm. But it seems to me that Amón Solar is already closing it.

Simón Avilés: It has always been one of my favorite places in San José culturally speaking. A great joy that it is reopening.

Teatro Popular Melico Salazar: what do users think?

Sergio Vargas: Great acoustic, very orderly. You can really enjoy the shows. Just dropping one star because the seats (on the third floor at least) are super small with almost no leg room. Your knees touch the other seats in front.

Diego G: Small and popular as its name calls it. This is an amazing place to enjoy events from music to theater and arts. No parking, and on street park is abusive in illegal prices for parking on the street. Look for near by official parking spots or take a cab.

Don Bowyer: Beautiful theatre! The National Symphony Orchestra plays here during the pandemic.

Jennifer Sinclair: A beautiful theater in downtown San Jose. It can get a bit warm due to the age of the theater and it not having AC so wear something light.

amezam: Went to the Symphony of Fate show today. The group was spectacular and service was good overall as well. My one complaint is that credit card is not accepted, thankfully there are a lot of banks nearby.

National Theater of Costa Rica: what do users think?

adam clare: I was here on a food tour of city that included this theater because it was on the route. Its a very nice structure, and i like the story behind one of the sculptures (the one on the right, mother and baby). The artists defiance in past. Was only in lobby and looking for 5 min, but very nice theater.' Like this review below if the info helps

Nicola UK: An excellent tour conducted in English by a wonderful guide called Monica ( I think). A really informative and lively presentation with a few surprises! Well worth doing to see the interior of this ornate institution. Lasts about 45 mins - 1 hour.

Alexander Lobo: One of our most beautiful and iconic buildings ever built. This National Theater is without a doubt a national treasure that holds the past trapped within its walls. It was built on the Oligarquía Cafetalera era, to be more precise by the lower class. The ones in power, were the owners of the coffee plantations, the provided a small percentage of money to build this master piece, the biggest part was provided by the lower classes via taxes. The richest people did not want to share the floor with the poorest ones, so a third floor was built with exterior separate entrances to those lower classes. The rich people did not know that the best acoustic and view of the orchestra was being enjoyed by the ones on the isolated floor with wooden pews. The vast majority of sculptures and paintings were done by Italian artists. In fact there is only one sculpture inside the lobby area which was built by a Costa Rican artist. It depicts a woman with and infant on her laps representing misery. He wanted to remind the rich that the lower classes were the ones who build that jewel. I strongly recommend everyone to visit this magnificent building.

Yona Lubitz (Ylubitz): Beautiful architecture and paintings. Still has the original seats from 1891 and the manual gears to raise the floor. amazing. Book a small tour.

A M: Absolutely amazing! We did the English tour and did not expect actors to guide us. They were playing the role of President Rafael and his wife Manuela. Incredible tour for just 3500 colones per person, that covers the history, art, and architecture of the theatre. Lasts about 40min

Kathia Duran: Beautiful place to visit. Check events online and buy tickets in advance. Be careful once leaving theater. Lots of crime. San Jose is not safe for tourist.

Bernardo Engelke: I went to the cafe and checked the entrance of the theater. It seemed very beautiful. Unfortunately, tickets were sold out for the tour inside the theater.

Alonna Dawes: With Greenway Nature Day Tours, we visited the “Teatro Nacional Costa Rica.” It was really beautiful and historical. Members of the National Theater came out randomly and preformed for us. Now I don’t speak Spanish that good so I didn’t understand what they were saying but it was nice they performed for us. Our tour guide, Alberto (Beto) from Greenway Nature Day Tours, gave us a great informative tour and we learned about the history.

Jazz Café: what do users think?

Jose Pablo Monge: This is always the Go to Place for live shows in Costa Rica. I just wish food was a little better. Is not bad in any way but I just wish it was better. Probably good for snacks but not for a dinner with live music. Overall a great place. Keep in mind that if there is a big event, you will have to park on a lot near by. So make sure to bring cash.

Don Raja Elvis: Superb Place...Good Service and High Class Live Music...Bands from all over the world are playing here! Apart from that acoustic in the hall is excellent...and this so called Café is a concert hall which is decorated and built in very special way!

Jose Carranza: Best venue for live music in Costa Rica, food is too expensive and not good enough though.

Yader Wizard: Excellent show, good place, great place to enjoy...

Roberto Truque: One of the few great live performance bars in Costa Rica. It has a three story structure that looks down on a simple central stage. Food isn’t that great. Also, parking spaces are quite limited and chances are you will have to end up street parking.

Manuel Rios: A great place in San Jose, Costa Rica to listen live music 🎶

Andrés Avila: Horrible place, super expensive, food was okish but too small a portion, a couple of seats were open and me and my friend went over, we were told off by one of the staff, probably saving seats for their friends, overall 1/10, never going back

Terence Madigan: My 1st time back to the Jazz Café, Escazu, in over a year and it was great. We saw a Pink Floyd tribute band, they were awesome. A few of us had the chicken wings, they were overcooked but okay.

Clay Akins: Overall great atmosphere. Sound quality was top notch and the band they had performing kept the crowd entertained with great worship music. The lighting was dark but very aesthetic. I had the mozzarella sticks and they were decent.

Kevin “Blank” Jimenez: Great ambiance, food is good. The live show depends a lot on who is playing.

El Tablao Flamenco: what do users think?

Azar Jindal: One of our friend suggested to visit this place. We were so excited as we have never experienced live dance show that too for Flamingo. At first when we entered the room, we got surprised and disappointed due to the seating arrangements, as there were small tables with foldable chairs. The hall pretty big and all the tickets were sold. We got some food, though it was little bit over priced. So we are 30 minutes in and we were hoping the show will be good as we wanted to support locals and also one of the dancer known to us. Then they started performances, and oh boy, we were in for treat. We forgot where we were sitting, what we were eating, i had camera with me and was clicking pictures. i clicked 600+ images during whole performance, it was that good. We were getting goosebumps. These guys are good! I mean world-class good! At moments, the intensity becomes so overwhelming that you don’t know if you should make a standing ovation or cry. Almost a mystical experience! You can bring your camera and click as many pictures/videos you want.

Eric Thivierge: My wife brought me there as a surprise because she knows I love Spanish guitar, but it was much more than that. I mean, wow! Imagine a private show with around 40 guests. Imagine 20 small tables where they serve authentic Spanish tapas (or pintxos if you are Basque). Now, imagine a team of four flamenco artists. A singer, a guitar maestro and two amazing female dancers performing on a stage about 10 feet by 6. My friends, if life is good for you and you have a chance to assist to this event, then you are in for a treat. These guys are good! I mean world-class good! These weekly shows have started as a project with two musicians and, almost a year and a half later, the dream is growing. The performance is very intimate and the artists have such a personal way of sharing their passion that you feel like you know them at the end of the show. It really comes from the heart and you can feel it in your bones as the night progresses. At moments, the intensity becomes so overwhelming that you don’t know if you should make a standing ovation or cry. Almost a mystical experience! I cannot say enough good things about these guys. Just buy a ticket and let yourself be transported by the passion of flamenco art. Bring your cameras and audio recorder, because these guys want you to share their stuff. No copyright issue with these amazing artists.

Irene Chinchilla: The Flamenco Tablo was a success and the service provided by the Hotel Villa Tournon was excellent thanks to both of them 🌹

David Chácon Chácon: Excellent show, I have been going for 4 years and it is always renewed, the atmosphere is pleasant and the food is delicious, a true piece of real flamenco in Costa Rica, congratulations to the organization.

Mayela Calderon: Excellent - good music and dancers, cozy atmosphere

Mari studio: Very beautiful presentation and very good tapas and sangria.

Daniel Melendez: The quality of the show is excellent

Carlos Eduardo Chaves Camacho: Very good bet. I congratulate you!!

Ronny Díaz López: Excellent show, recommended

Beckett Prado: I had a lot of fun dancing to excellent music. Deinks are goid price, maybe more than the other clubs, but better music as well. Getting food was difficult. Small portions but tasted good.

Terry Young: We attended the Los Iracundos concert here in June 2022. I had reserved seating, but the seats were already occupied?? They moved us to an alternative spot, which was fine, but we were a little disappointed. Drinks were expensive, considering the hefty admittance fee we already paid.

La Concha de la Lora: what do users think?

Alonso Mondal: One of the most famous spots in La California, now with El Mercadito right beside it, with internal access, making the experience even better. Expensive cover, and expensive liquor inside.

Xavier Robinson: Hip hop night on a Tuesday is the move

Marta Rodenas: Probably my go-to place in La Cali for a great time with friends. It’s within “el mercadito” or connected to it so there are multiple bars within the place and different spaces with different vibes, seating/standing options and music. You’re bound to find a corner or spot you like no matter what you’re in the mood for. I’ve come here for a chill drink (early) in the mercadito area and also closed the bar down on other nights, dancing the night away in the concha de la lora area. It does get very crowded and they check ID so make sure you’re ready for that. There’s also a cover here sometimes.

Maria Gabriela Calleja: Super crowded. people can get easily mugged and no security guard will even pay attention to it nor does the bar.It is ok to visit when not in weekends

James HT: Charged double and it’s not the first time

Eddie: Drinks are cheap, huge place, indoor and outdoor, it has a huge backyard with more bars and food! I love this place!

Arielle Golightly: Fun place, a bit too crowded for my taste but we had a great time.

Juan Vasquez: Of all the clubs and bars in San Jose. Antik is the one i most frequent. Great atmosphere, regaeton up stairs Lounge in the middle floor to cool off, and techno all night long until 6 am downstairs. I freaking love this place Must have went atleast 40 times this year or more.

Merlina Padma: Really nice and very secure place! A beer could be between $4 to $3. Bathrooms are clean, and the events are totally awesome :)

Caro Rodriguez: Great party ambient, either latin with reggeaton and dem bow or electronic music, always a good selection of DJs to turn up the audience and sync in great energy.

Fernando Barboza: Solid club. Two dance rooms featuring different music one upstairs and one in the basement level. Beautiful building. Clean facilities
