Jonathan Arguello: Excited place

Luis Mata: Great opportunity to know the ability of individual and group reasoning. If I fail, the group fails... lucky that there will always be someone more cunning.

Miguel Fuentes: Definitely an excellent experience. Great attention to detail and good atmosphere.

Wutai “MurderCake” Clan: Excellent place, full of riddles, very immersive and advisable for team buildings! Exceptional treatment

Andrés Zamora: Great! Quite recommended. Some improvements are always possible, but they are minimal.

David Arroyo: Sooooo highly recommended... Both rooms have unbeatable attention and the game experience is also very challenging and always different

Lau Vascha: Very nice experience and the boy is very good people!

Roberto Céspedes: Very good experience, different from the other places with the same business model

Manuel Picado: 3rd Generation Escape Room, electronic components, interactive elements, adventures and mysteries, super recommended and fun

Mariposario Butterfly Kingdom Costa Rica: what do users think?

Traveling Cosmos and Tacos: This was a really cool place to visit! Very peaceful. Lots of different butterflies freely flying all around you. Best time to go is in the morning when they are all up and flying around. I went closer to closing time so most were sleeping but I still was able to get great pictures! The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They are opening a restaurant on the premises soon. Don’t forget to stop in the gift shop. Lots of cool things to buy 🤗

Casey Bricker: So beautiful and idyllic. Small garden but I had the whole place to myself. The tour guide didn’t speak much English and I am not fluent in Spanish but we were able to communicate and figure things out :) she says only one of their guides speak English but they are moving towards an entirely virtual tour. GO WHEN ITS SUNNY, the butterflies hunker down when it’s rainy. Learned so much and enjoyed so much beauty!

Kalina Heggie: I loved the butterfly kingdom! The guide was super knowledgeable and fun! I really enjoyed walking around and having butterfly’s land on you while what hung them play and float in the air. Definitely check this place out while your in San Jose!

Lovable Sin: This place is BEAUTIFUL! I love butterflies so I was really at peace in there. If you are in Costa Rica stop by I promise you will love the staff and the butterflies!

Nikole S: It was a little expensive, but the tour was awesome, and the butterflies are stunning!

Valeria: A Magical Experience. Friendly staff and great knowledge. The place is well maintained, with a small playground for kids and also a nice terrace for adults overlooking Escazú.

Barbara Baez: Beautiful butterflies and caterpillars! I could have stayed all day!

Carly Tribull: Really nice shop and great owner, who is happy to explain the pieces and their origins. Prices are very good for the quality and authenticity - this is a fair trade gallery, not a cheap souvenir shop. However, there were items for every budget and I think you’ll be very satisfied. Lots of masks, wood carvings, paintings, and neat reproductions of the pre-Colombian jewelry you saw at the museums. Be aware that due to Covid-19 staffing issues, you should definitely call or text the shop to set up a meeting time! He is very willing to drive in, just for one group of people. Can either ship or pack for you to carry home.

Seann: This is a must visit place while staying at San Jose. Connell is knowledgeable and helpful for selecting among the variety of original arts and crafts. We will definitely go there again if we return to Costa Rica.

Rick Roels: The perfect cross-over between art gallery and gift shop. Amazing collection of authentic, carefully selected, fair trade products, which come with an interesting story and at correct prices. When we arrived the shop was closed, despite the opening hours found through Google, but we texted the owner, who quickly provided a solution for us to visit this wondrous gem. A real treat for art and souvenir lovers as well as for culture seekers!

Sophia Moore: A small gallery in San Jose but with many interesting pieces. The staff were very knowledgeable on the pieces that they had and were able to provide a history of the area where the pieces were made. We bought 2 things to take back home with us and the staff member provided us with a receipt to ensure we could get through customs. The only thing I would say is that the receipts should be itemised as customs were wary of us being able to produce a receipt but be unable to prove it was for the items we were carrying. They let us through in the end but just a warning for others.

Dixon Lu: Great shop with detailed explanation/history of all the items. Not expensive either when compared to the other stuff you find at the tourist trap souvenir shops. Be careful, can easily overspend because they will ship.

Michael Crawford: Namu is THE only souvenir shop you need to visit in San Jose. It was the only one we could find that had true works of art from craftsmen. We saw pottery, knitted goods, paintings, jewelry, woven baskets - all amazing quality and affordable prices. Go here. Do not go to Mercado Central or The Artisans Market (at least not expecting true handicrafts).

D Wong: Awesome place! Connell is incredibly knowledgeable about indigenous culture. He is very careful when working with indigenous groups using fair trade and sustainability practices. Good prices and a large percentage of his sales goes back to the artist.

Neethi Nandagopal: A good place to buy authentic Costa Rican made handicrafts. The shopkeeper is very friendly and knowledgeable on the artwork. Reasonable and fair price points. Highly recommend

Cosi: Idyllic, beautiful and calming. The Butterfly Garden is a perfect place to escape the noisy city and find a place to calm and ground yourself while you’re surrounded by astonishing plants and of course, the butterflies. A variety of wonderful flying creatures and a small tour through the jungle await you here. It’s absolutely affordable (about 4$) and so worth it ¡gracias para la experiencia! <3

Jon Beasley: A delightful experience. Seeing the elusive Blue Morpha is a treat. Be sure to take the river walk down to the Rio Torres and experience the cascade.
Response: Thank you very much for your valuable comment!!

Rosalie: This place is magical and my favorite place so far in San José🦋✨ the price is about 5$ and super worth it. Thank you for this amazing experience, the nature is breathtaking and the butterflies just so glamorous

ROBERT MANDELTORT: A short walk from ny hotel in San Jose. Very friendly staff.so cool the garden and exhibits about butterflies..Took the path in the forest down to the river..Had some really strong cafe after there.Highly recommended.
Response: Hello Robert, thank you very much for your opinion, we are glad you liked it!!😊✨

Andreia Batista Dias: A wonderful and magical place to be silent and observe nature flourishing around. A really enjoyable experience if you are in San José and would like to go outside the main tourist attractions.
Response: Thank you very much for your beautiful comment!, we are glad that you enjoy the place

Gunnar Moan: The staff was really nice and helpful. The room was basic, but clean. The breakfast authentic and well made. Stefi Müller: Nice Hotel in the heart of San Jose. Walking distance to shopping street and several restaurants.Good tico breakfast and super friendly staff. Spotless clean bathroom. We would stay there again.Hotel highlights Great value …More

Jennifer Adams: Fleur de Lys has become my home away from home. Centrally located in San Jose, you can walk to many attractions and great restaurants. The staff is wonderful. It is a small, quaint hotel. They have a lovely complimentary breakfast. They are in the process of updating rooms. These updates are only going to enhance the charm of this hotel more. I love small family owned hotels. This is definitely my favorite in San Jose.

Panos: The man in the reception was really helpful and warm The room was not in a very good state - need a bit of renovation. For 1-night stay is ok, not so expensive as well considering that as well Be careful on the location as it might get a bit creepy at night, as long as you do not cross to the left side of the area...

Patrick Kolence: Everything was excellent and the man at the front desk was SO helpful with local recommendations, help with the bus logistics, and providing us with everything we needed to be comfortable. HIGHLY recommended for clean rooms, good breakfast, and kind staff.Rooms: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Location: 5/5 …More

Cor van den Dungen: Nice hotel for a few days while your in San José.Rooms: 4/5 | Service: 5/5 | Location: 3/5 …More

Ulf Robertsson: Stayed in San Jose for two days, with family, before moving on. Liked the hotel, and would definitely stay there again if I return. Very friendly staff and the rooms were clean. Breakfast was included and we enjoyed their typical dish rice and beans. The location is amazing close to the city center, but overall San Jose is one of the most boring cities I visited. My only complaint is the noise during night. The hotel offers ear plugs, and we used them....

Gail Timms: After flying for 9 hours and travelling for 14 hrs. As a solo female. A bit of false advertising. It is quite away from anything. No shops bars or restaurants. Hotel does NOT have a restaurant that is open after breakfast. Only continental breakfast. Room does NOT have a kettle or coffee facilities or even a bottle of water. I was told not to walk at night on my own. When I asked for a drink I was told drink water out of the tap! And face a night with no dinner. I stayed long enough to use the slow Wi-fi and book another hotel, checked out lost £60 and got an Uber elsewhere. Room very dated but clean. Sheets old and off colour but clean. That’s all I saw. If you are going make sure you stop at supermarket on way for drink for the room

Michelle Seay: Beautifully decorated, comfortable, large rooms and beds. English speaking concierge. Restaurant on site for free breakfast, and is open for lunch. Excellent food and coffee. Great view of San Jose and surrounding area. Secure location.

Becky McCanse: Great value for the price. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. We booked the master suite and it was very spacious. The included breakfast was quite good. I would definitely stay there again.

Marcello Ritondo: Very good value, nice rooms, excellent service, safe location with secure parking and excellent breakfast

Tim Christopher: Clean and well kept.Within walking distance of the clinic where I recieve my cancer treatments as well as a supermarket.

Ivan Blanco: Nice spot in the town

jason moody: Nice place

ANNETTE RODRIGUEZ FUENTES: The rooms are very spacious, comfortable and clean. The facilities are very nice and well maintained. We really liked the restaurant, a very ventilated, fresh and also very clean place. Delicious breakfast and super attentive, kind, friendly and helpful staff. highly recommended 💯

Sarah Leidhold: This is such an incredibly elegant hotel experience. The restaurant is probably the most fancy place I’ve ever dined; I was in complete awe of the architecture and the decor. The food was simply decadent with the best coffee ice cream I’ve ever had. Our room is quaint and cozy with a small garden and fountain outside our window. The employees at the front desk have been incredibly kind and helpful, encouraging me to practice Spanish when we are interacting. There is a gorgeous garden and lavish jacuzzis as well as a gym and a lending library. This is such a fantastic place to stay! I loved it here! Thank you to all the staff for being so kind and helpful.

Gary Young: Fantastic customer service from a historic landmark. Comfortable rooms with unique charm, in this former mansion turned hotel. Some rooms have a private garden, or are in the thick of a gardened courtyard. Relaxing jacuzzi and modest gym on the rooftop with modern feel. Hallways lined with historical photography show earlier eras of the country. The restaurant is high end cuisine, and accommodated dietary constraints (gluten, dairy, and peanut free).

Gabo: This place has been around for several decades and it is one of the best all around hotels in the Central Valley, and probably the only truly good option in the Paseo Colon area. The restaurant is top notch. Don’t miss the macadamia crusted sea bass.

Tim Anslow: Conveniently located hotel rich in character with friendly and helpful staff always available to assist guests. Served as a great start and finish location for our tour of such a beautiful and diverse country.Rooms: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Location: 5/5 …More

Julieta Fernandez: This last visit was very different than previous years. We do understand however that the pandemic changed things for everyone. The reason we only gave the hotel 3 stars is because we were expecting a good buffet breakfast like in past years we have stayed here however the only thing available was a coffee station. It definitely needs more maintenance on the outside (like the buildings paint) . Staff was very attentive and friendly . Hope things get better and we can utilize your services again.

Francesca M: Great reception. Lunch buffet was very good. Rooms ate clean. If there is some you need ask for it. The kitchen has minimal supplies. Furniture is a bit old and soiled The hot tub is fabulous. Make sure you put extra persons on booking. They are free there. If you add when you arrive they will charge. Pool is nice. It does host parties to little kids. It is next to the restaurant.

Andrew tomlinson: Friendly welcome and seems a bit of an oasis in a slightly rough looking part of San José. Apartment was clean and had 2 bedrooms and third bed in sitting room. Kitchen had cooker and washing machine of some considerable vintage but we only stopped over for one night. Bathroom was a bit tired but functional. Breakfast was fine as was evening meal in restaurant. Staff very helpful.

Henning Garcia: Awesome place. Clean and modern.Stuff very attentive and helpful.Great for the money.

Diana Kunze: A good and safe hotel: very quiet, the breakfast is absolutely fine, the room was large and clean, lunch buffet is very varied (especially great were the salads). We had a longer stay, so we could try everything: whirlpool, swimming pool, gym. Except the sauna, but it was in operation. We saw how the water was controlled and cleaned. The staff is great. I got sick on the way and got lemon and ginger for recovery. Thanks a lot for this!

Timothy: Great service, and great place to play some slots and dine at the restaraunt.

Waleuska Pallais: I’m an adult and don’t appreciate being spoken to like I’m a child. They close at 9:30 and at 9:20 an employee upstairs literally reprimanded me. He told me in a very stern Voice I had to leave NOW. Meanwhile downstairs no one was pressuring the clients to leave. I speak Spanish fluently so it wasn’t a language issue, just rude employee. Won’t be going back.

Darlene Rodriguez: 2 floors, good variety of machines, clean

John DiCaro: Had a nice time gambling, staff where super friendly and great.

cliff utstein: Good for blackjack players (pays 3:2)

RZ Traveler: Nice casino frequented by both regular locals and tourists. Table games on the lower level with more gaming machines upstairs. Has a 24 hour restaurant and bar. Free buffet on weekends for people actively playing. Not everyone speaks English.

Ursuss Alvarez: Great casino won twice slots $1000 each time..friendly staff..very attentive..great restaurant..parking available.. bathrooms clean... Katherine supervisor of floor great customer service..

Jean Knott: Rooms were clean but very sparce and basic. No hot water, so after a long flight would have been lovely to have a hot shower I would suggest suitable for 1 night stay as no facilities etc.

Rebecca L: A very nice place to stay, the staff is friendly and I enjoyed the fresh juice available during breakfast. You can easily walk to many restaurants and tourist sites are also just a 20-30 min walk. My only recommendation is to bring ear plugs, at times you can hear extra noise form construction in your room. Very affordable and central place to see San Jose.

Brad F: Fantastic staff. No elevator. Very quiet facility, if you are not on the street side. The door stays locked 24/7, and you have to ring the bell to gain entrance on each occasion.

Emmi Marie: Small hotel in an old house with clean rooms and nicer staff. Good breakfast. Walking distance to downtown. Many restaurants nearby. Unfortunately right next to a very busy road.Rooms: 4/5 | Service: 5/5 | Location: 3/5 …More
