La Mancha: what do users think?

Al Fuentes: First I want to qualify this review by telling you that I’ve had coffee all around the world. It is one of the main reasons why I travel. This coffee place is legitimately at the top of the list! If you want a true Costa Rican coffee experience then you have to come here. The owner, Alberto, gets his beans directly from the farmers and roast them himself! The freshness of the coffee and the quality of the bean from the Tarrazú region is second to none. Also, it is perfectly roasted to bring out all of the best flavors. Most of Costa Rica’s coffee is exported, so it is hard to find a true local coffee shop. Like a true specialty coffee shop, there are multiple brew methods and you can even take a bag of coffee home with you. If you’re looking for environment, La Mancha is centrally located yet tucked away off the busy street with plenty of seating, good music, and kind, attentive staff. Honestly I could go on but you will have to just come for yourself. You will not be disappointed. By the way this post was unsolicited and I am not affiliated with La Mancha. I live in the USA. I just came here on vacation and fell in love with this place.

William Viquez: Both espresso and cappuccino were perfect. Balanced espresso with floral hints and soft aftertaste. The cappuccino’s temperature was spot on, and the milk-espresso ratio was just right. I also tried the empanada Argentina, it was good. I will revisit and recommend Café La Mancha.

Steve McIntosh: Modern coffee shop in a beautiful old arcade. They offer a wide variety of ways to prepare the coffee for you including chemex and aeropress. I had a Corrado that was robust and creamy. Didn't try the food but what other people had looked good.Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Rachel Kleitches: Alberto, the owner, is amazing and so friendly! This coffee shop is a MUST if you are looking for great local coffee in San Jose. The atmosphere is also nice and relaxing. I already can’t wait to go back.

Amal W.J.E: Great cheese cake !!! Good coffee! Fair prices , nice staff and great ambiance. There’s a courtyard shared with other establishments and a stage where bands jam.

Carlos: Beautiful place, the coffee shop is inside the building. The Cappuccino has a good taste, unfortunately the oat milk was too sweat.

Jade Laneuville: The cappuccino crema irlandesa is the best I ever had. Every time I go in San Jose I have to stop drink my special cappuccino. + the place is so beautiful.

Rachel Bennett: From my experience, La Mancha is the best spot for specialty coffee in San José central. When friends come to visit, I take them there for good coffee. When I need to get work done, I go there for good coffee. I really value that they offer space for both work and social time. It's a beautiful and safe place in the middle of the busy city with kind staff that know their coffee well. Try an espresso and the banana cake!

Cord Thomas: Great little cafe in the center of San Jose. They even have almond milk which is a huge bonus! We had a vegan latte that was fantastic, and their iced cappuccino, which surprised us that it was sweet, but was still very good. Quite a lot of sketchy individuals coming in and out of the courtyard though. Would have preferred to sit inside. In any case, very enjoyable experience and they dealt with our bad Spanish very well.

Antoinette Ady: Came here for coffee, also got caprese empanada. SO GOOD. 5 stars because I wouldn’t change a single thing. Great job, La Mancha.

Joaquin Vargas: Awesome find! Delicious food. Beautiful renovated home with large windows and natural light. Every corner is nicely utilized. Spacious patio. Friendly staff. Treat yourself! You will not be disappointed.

D C: Great place to relax in the nice part of San Jose CR. Great ambience, friendly staff, tasty food, great mimosa! I was very pleased with the quality and the quantity of the food. Great experience coming to this place! Prices compare to Seattle are a little cheaper.

Jason Goldsberry: Top tier in every way. Coffee tasting experience, brunch, and overall great environment. Service always is excellent. Dining room opens up to an enclosed outdoor area with a small playground for the kids.

Daniel N. Lang: Very delicious coffee and cheesecake. The waitress is extremely friendly and speaks fluent English. I like sitting in the little garden because there's a playground for kids and a lot of green plants. Definitely worth a visit when you're in San Jose. The internet is 14/14 MBit/s - this should be faster. Kid-friendliness: There's a playground in the garden.

Zach W: Best coffee experience we had in Costa Rica. The quality of the coffee and knowledge of the staff were beyond top notch. Definitely recommend for coffee nerds looking for the whole tasting experience or anyone wanting a high quality cup.Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Kristin Flores: We’ve been here a few times and have always enjoyed our experiences! I’m a big latte fan and theirs are so smooth! My husband likes the cafe filtrado and there are a variety of beans to choose from! Picture below is the tico breakfast - gallo pinto, a common Costa Rican breakfast. It’s a lot of food and so good! Not picture but also delicious is their chocolate chip French toast! We love this place and there’s also a playground for the kids which my toddler loves!

Puuluu Wayan: I had a cup of American coffee and breakfast. Coffee was not impressive for the much higher than average coffee price. I call it no value. Breakfast bacon was healthy without salt. This means tasteless and NG. Service was so so or as like healthy no salted bacon. Building and garden were designed nicely and impressive. So this cafe restaurant is not for good tastes but enjoy being in a well designed space.

John Troppy: Nice place with a pleasant patio area. Staff was attentive and kind. The food and coffee were good. No reason why I wouldn't recommend this place.

Irum Bilgrami: As the uber drove me through the downtown traffic of San Jose i felt apprehension. Is this place going to worth the drive? As soon as we pulled up in front of the cafe, I had the answer. The barista was so friendly as patient with my broken Spanish and asked the right questions as she pointed me towards the menu selection for both my appetite level and dietary preference. The tacos with mushrooms with a tangy spicy sauce was incredible and tasty. The ambiance with the music selection, as I sit in the outdoor patio has me completely relaxed and satisfied. The coffee is so good and fresh.

Eva Eger: Coffe tastes really bad. People who know good coffee should not get one here! Place looks cute and fancy, thought you will taste that in the coffee too. But no, won’t recommend having your coffee here

Alma De Cafe: what do users think?

Allison Brown-Elmont: Some of best food in I've had in CR so far! And the atmosphere was amazing, the national theater is incredible. The mocha amaretto was absolutely delicious and the coconut/pineapple smoothie was super tasty. Highly recommend the peppermint lemonade as well. The pour over coffee is just okay but still tasty. The food was also amazing. The salad dressing was a delicious avocado or cilantro ranch that I want a bottle of. Chicken salad was fresh and full of vegetable for a tasty gluten free lunch. My son gobbled up the beef lasagna and daughter enjoyed the veggie sandwich. With a coffee menu that was 4 pages long I can't wait to go back and try other drinks both hot and cold. Alcoholic coffee drinks as well as Wine and beer also available. Savory crepes, salads, sandwiches, quiche, soup, and baker items like banana bread and cheesecake available. Everything looks so tasty we will definitely be going back for more.

A M: Very nice cafe located inside the National Theatre. Beautiful architecture. Really enjoyed the refreshing Puerto Viejo smoothie. Did not like the coffee so the staff offered to replace it with a smoothie. Very accommodating.

Rog Edwards: Cafe focusing on coffee and cakes located in the national theatre. The room is very fancy and worth seeing in itself especially the painted ceiling. Also has savoury dishes and other drinks available. Not cheap.Food: 4/5 | Service: 3/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Katie Sanderson: Cheesecake & lemon meringue at 📍 @almadecafe Rating: 🤩 Delicious choice Thoughts 💭 Set in the national theatre this cafe is stunning and equally the cakes available too. The cheesecake was dense, yet creamy with a superb flavour a must try & reorder. The lemon meringue was also fantastic although the base let it down a little bit. Reviews by @thefoodiestraveldiary .

Andreia Batista Dias: The place is very remarkable for being inside the national theatre. However it's overrated and doesn't provide that unique experience you may think. Clearly a tourist spot with very high prices for the provided pastry's or coffee. I wasn't really disappointed because I've imagined it could be as that. Either way, the staff was polite and the place calm.

Eric DeLaat: The cafe is classical, with a very energetic and exciting atmosphere, even when the theater is closed. Stop by for a small treat and a coffee.Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Bernardo Engelke: It is a very beautiful cafe inside the theater. Worth to go at least for a coffee.Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Elad Gat: Nice atmosphere and great coffee. The food is average. Great place for coffee

Ilona: Great ambiance , good coffee and great service

ASLI E.: I ordered passion fruit pie, it was not only delicious but also hit my heart 😍 just jump to try after theatre ceremony

Mirley Vega: My husband and I really enjoyed our time here. Food was tasty, the place was cozy, and customer service was on point. It is a little noisy because it is located in one of the main boulevards in San José, but the view is great. 👌 You can go here for a quick hot or cold drink, take your laptop with you, and enjoy your time there with nice pastries and sweets. 😋

louis yagera: Decent restaurant in San José. Food is ok , portion are large. Price is fair.

Cristian S.: Great atmosphere, friendly staff, clean restrooms and great food! Great place for breakfast!

Anny: First time I came here I ordered Cafe con leche, croissant and apple strudel and they were amazing. The baked goods were nicely toasted, especially the croissant. The second time I came here I had a different experience. I ordered the same coffee but it wasn’t hot enough. I had the potato strudel and apple strudel and both tasted like they were microwaved leaving the texture too soft. Needs consistency here.

D Cooper: We stopped for the dulce de leche churro's in the window and decided to stay for lunch...Service was efficient and friendly.

Logemann Wissanee: Good view and service!! We came here for coffee and Churros. It was pleasant to have a seat and enjoy the coffee here.

John Roshio: The steak at this location is the best steak I've had in all of Costa Rica. Never a bad meal.

J T: Courteous service and lots of patience while serving our group of student tourists. Plus, the frozen coffee out of this world. Really, this place is a source of unquestionable quality goods like chocolate, coffee, nuts and seeds, and more.

Lorna O. Davison: My favorite place for cappuccino in San Jose.

Ace Handler: Very nice spot on Independence Day, not too busy and good coffee & treats. Good place to watch the Ticoaction 🙂

Henrik: Was ok. Empanadas were only half warm. The coffee is good though.

Diego G: Amazing local spot for coffee and treats or a full breakfast start up. Fully recommended before a SJO walking tour.

Bethany Guerrero: Wonderful coffee and pastries, a little walk away from the busy streets of San José but worth it! We went at a not so busy time of day (11:00am) and it was perfect. I've heard from locals that this place typically has a line out to the sidewalk, so weekdays before the lunch rush is a perfect time to go and actually have space to enjoy.

Jakob Leitner: I think this is the best coffee shop in San Jose. They have very delicious original Italian cappuccino in small porcelain cups not only paper cups. Yummy empanadas! Good Wi-Fi! The staff is very friendly and they speak English not only Spanish. It is very relaxing there.

Restaurant Critic: My review is only based on their black espresso. Although they use fresh beans, grind them, tamp and make the coffee, the coffee was full of crema but it didn't taste good at all. Sour and bad tasting. The cashier was very nice and offered me a free mask as i want carrying one but i have no clue why the coffee tasted like that. I just threw it away. They do have baked goodies that i might try later on. But as for my espresso experience. It's a one star. The rest i dunno, so that is why it's 3 and not 1 star.

Jennifer Johnson: Not many vegetarian food options, but we had a very refreshing smoothie and lemonade! Great location and unique atmosphere.

Azar Jindal: This place was everything we expected... WE tried couple of Cold Coffee (GoldenCrunch & Cookiemaster), both were awesome. I will definitely recommend this cafe for evening Coffee... Though it is open only until 6PM.

Ward Harmon: Awesome cafe! Great desserts and coffee drinks. The carrot cake was unlike any other. Must visit!

Alejandra Calderon: Very nice, it's a small place, for rest your feet when your walking in San José, if you want a smootie with an "empanada" this is the right place 👌

Natalia Gómez: Service here is not great, coffee is good, baked goods are good. Maybe just get take out.

J D (Dilone): When you first walk in you think it’s just the window seat stools for seating but go through the back and up the stairs for more seating and then another spiral stair case to take you to the balcony ~ it’s just divine. These tacos were my favorite!!!! My partner and I ordered almost half the menu to dine in and the other half to take away bc it was our last night and just didn’t know how to choose. We are sooooooo happy with this place. The service was great, the food-I’ve said this so many times but this time I think everyone will agree- it is the best vegan food we have ever had. You can not go wrong with anything on the menu. I promise you! You will love! It’s fresh! Light! Flavorful! Great portions. The avocado grilled cheese sandwich yum!!! The tar tar Yum! My partner loved the burger. The chai lattes and milk shake were allll so great we are thrilled and can’t wait to go back. Must visit if you are in sjo xx pura Vida

Oni Giri: Easy to miss but you shouldn’t. Really nice vibe cafe smack in the center of San Jose. It occupies those narrow rectangular area. Coffee also nice taste. Didn’t try the food nor th e parties so I cannot comment on that. Strange that when I looked up cafe in the on google map this place don’t show up. I was heading to another cafe when I luckily spotted the sign. Design centric cafe tends to have certain design aesthetic to their logos so that was easy to notice

Isaac Quesada: Tasty vegan food in one of the nicest cafeterias in the area! Good balance between portions and price. They have really good ice coffees. Try the flautas or grill cheese sandwich!

Shawn Coates: Staff is very friendly, food is delicious and plated like a fine dining restaurant. The price is also very good. The atmosphere is nice and the balcony views are great.

Jessica Coates: My husband and I made the trip out to De Acá twice in our 4 days in San Jose. Absolutely delicious Plant-Based food. Would highly recommend.

David Cedeño: Full vegan cafe at the center of San Jose, delicius coffees, if you ever go try the tuna tartar, good service and excelent prices.

Michael Ross: All of the other 5-star reviews are totally accurate .. I have not much new to say. This place is a wonderful eating experience... small, attractive, clean, friendly service, delicious food.

Jean Cox: The dishes are unique, delicious, well thought out, and served beautifully. The service is welcoming and friendly. The restaurant decor and concrete architecture are simple and interesting. I had "Tuna" Tatar, smoothie and pecan pie with vegan ice cream. So good! I highly recommend Cafetería De Acá.

Janka Dolezal: I met Mariel today , the owner of this beautiful place , walk upstairs and enjoy the first floor and even second empore , its neat and cosy and I am for sure ordered to much of delicious food. Each dish was brilliant combination of flavors and fresh and eye candy ! Thank you , we will be back ! Smoothie as well great

Heather Storm: The food is amazing! Love the atmosphere. Reasonable prices

OMAR JALAL: Wow, this coffee is amazing! I’m a Starbucks fan but as a first time visitor I like to try the local stuff; this local coffee tastes amazing and is not less than Starbucks coffee quality…. 👍👍👍👍👍

Mugurel Andres: Nice coffee place, tasty snacks and coffes.. bags of colombian coffee to buy as a present as well. Clean and friendly staff..

Kenneth Rivera: good coffee, made by real baristas! Expensive but in range as per cafeterias in the area.

Sergio Guillen: The coffee is really good. The baked goods did not look all that fresh or yummy, so we passed (there is a Giacomin across the street) . The breakfast is "fast food-like" served in a no frills cardboard rectangle with plastic cutlery. The arepas were tasty, but I missed the classiness of at least plates. The prices were very affordable. Health safety measure were well kept. We felt at easy, unlike in some of the too crowded restaurants in the area. So plus and cons rather balanced in my view.

Restaurant Critic: I tried the double espresso shot and their coffee is really good. I enjoyed it. I will try again and probably buy some beans from here as well. Service was fast and very attentive. Place had some people in it as they were having some coffee and cup cakes as they serve stuff like that as well. Highly recommend

Francisca Perez: We loved the coffee, service location and price ok.

Ignacio Sandi: We ordered 2 cups of coffee, 1 made with french press which tasted awful and the other one made with the dripper which was okay. But they served us in disposable cups instead of real coffee cups. We didn't order to go!! Customer service was terrible, they didn't even gave us napkins. This is not my first time coming here, but after this, it's the last one.

Spencer Saunders: This is a wonderful place to have a coffee with a nice environment

Nicholas Alexander: Really great coffee chain. Grab some to take home it is very good. Cafe nevado is nice as well.

Aida Bahrami: Nice place, even though on the expensive side. However, the last time I went in with my dog (it has a sign outside saying they are pet friendly) they asked me to leave and sit outside, which is hard if I can't order and pay for what I want. Turns out, some costumer was once really bothered by the existence of a pet in the cafe and so the manager had decided not to let them in anymore. NOT pet friendly! Remove the sign.

Shweta Goel: We liked this place so much that in our 7 day stay, we came here twice for dinner. Excellent service, great vegetarian food with fresh produce and flavourful dressings. We had the vegan pumpkin soup, followed by the entree and finally the banana bread/cake and chocolate ( vegan) cake. The deserts came with a raspberry sauce which added a really neat mix of tartness to the sweet desserts. The main course is an interesting concept, you pick a base and a " topping" and if you like, an extra and that is the main course. I recommend this to anyone visiting San Jose. I know if I ever return to SJO , I'll be back here!

Tanitiã Munroe: Where do I begin? Everything at this place is scrumptious! The food is quite filling and flavourful. They have incredible natural juices and their pastry rich. Everyone should try their pie made with passion fruit filling and homemade jam. Incredible atmosphere and friendly staff. Ask for Cassandra aka Cassie. This is one of my favorite places in San Jose.
Response: Tanitiã thank you so much. I will transfer your kind words to Cassie.

Johanna Tseng: Vietnamese inspired restaurant with vegan and vegetarian options. The food feels like it’s on the lighter side, especially since you get to control the amount of sauce that goes into your food. The con of that is that your sauce mixture probably won’t taste as good as if would be if they just made it for you. Noodles for the bun weren’t traditional bun rice noodles, and the chicken was pretty dry. Overall a cute place to visit but not my favorite meal. Lots of potential that hasn’t been realized yet.
Response: Hello Johanna. I am really sad you didn’t enjoy our food that much. I am Taking note of the chicken being dry. Both dipping sauces are home made specially for these dishes, maybe you can tell us on private how would you like us to improve them. Thanks for your time.

Amy P: Not a typical Vietnamese restaurant, but a good fusion with local delicacy, like smoked trout! Many vegan and vegetarian options as well!! I was there once at the beginning of my trip and I had to go there again at the end of my trip on my stop in San Jose. The Iced Coffee with Ginger is a must-try, especially if you like ginger. It’s pre-sweetened, but that’s what reminded me of ginger tea in Asia. The trout spring roll was very delicious, though it would be better if the sesame seeds were toasted. There was no sesame taste otherwise. The Bun with Smoked Trout and eggplants was also a good combination, with the fish sauce mixture and a little spicy sauce. Never had a chance to try their desserts because I was so full with the foods!! This is so far my favorite place to eat in San Jose other than the typical foods.
Response: Amy, thanks for your generous and detailed review. We are more than pleased to know you had a good time.

Shayla White: As a vegan, I have been having trouble finding good restaurants to eat at, so when I found this place I was really happy, and they did not disappoint! The food was delicious, and the iced coffee was even better! The vegan chocolate cake surpassed my expectations:) The vibe of the place was perfect and really cute, and the staff was extremely friendly and spoke very good English, which I was especially grateful for. Overall, Cafe Rojo has been one of my favorite spots in San Jose! My non-vegan friends really enjoyed the food also:)
Response: Soooo glad you enjoyed our vegan options. We try to have an inclusive place where everybody can find what they need. Thanks so much for your rating!

Brian Pollock: Great options to create your perfect salad, sandwich, bowl or unique cosado. Good flavors and very filling. The ginger lemonade was delicious and not like any ginger drink I've had before. Finally the waiters were very attentive and friendly and spoke English very well. Highly recommend.
Response: Thank you so much for recommending us! We are glad you had a good time!

Ehsan: Fantastic restaurant! From the moment we arrived we loved our experience here. The service was top notch. Our waiter (Daniel) was very friendly and took the time to explain the menu to us, and gave us excellent recommendations. The trout is AMAZING, we highly recommend it with the rice. Everything feels so organic and fresh here. The prices are fair and the environment is welcoming. If you're in San José - give this place a try. Vegetarian options: Vegan options available! Dietary restrictions: Vegan and vegetarian friendly. And if you have a halal diet, you can try the trout like we did!
Response: We are really happy to hear you had a good time at the restaurant. We shared your your review with Dani as well. Thanks for your comments

Tomer Shenhav: Fantastic place. We came as a family w/ 3 picky children (3,6 & 8). The place is beautiful and well decorated, with a few tables outside, and 4 home like rooms with very comfortable tables inside. The staff was amazing and helped us a lot with customize any meal for our children. The food was really good - you simply build your own meal and then gets few mins of sauces to the table, so you can "control" your flavour. The cocktails were amazing! Vegetarian options: They have various vegetarian options, incl. a really good soy based sauce which reminds the traditional fish sauce. Kid-friendliness: They can adapt any dish or side dish to children.
Response: Hello Tomer, We are happy you and your children could have a good meal. Thank for reviewing us!

Yvonne Göhring: A must for vegans! Extremely tasty and a lot to choose from. Of course there are also meat dishes. I the bowl of fish. Various sauces are served with it. Don't eat so much beforehand, otherwise dessert won't fit in. ;)
Response: Yvonne, thanks for reviewing us!! We try to cater in the most inclusive way.

Shiri Ayalon: We were fortunate enough to find Cafe Rojo on our first night in San José, and we returned day after day over our eight day stay . The food is THAT good!! So is the service, the warm atmosphere, and the delectable desserts. My personal favorites are the trout, the ginger coffee, and the Chilean Torte. Fantástico!!
Response: So many thanks for those kind words. We are really glad you enjoyed our offer.

Amanda Amador-Prache: The food was really good, the crepe with mushroom was tasty and the salad that came with it was delicious. The sandwich was also good but small. They use 100% biodegradable straws which is great. The only downside was the slow service.

Jenny Tang: I stayed in San José for a week and came here for breakfast and coffee almost everyday. Their coffee was top notch. I *loved* the generous serving of homemade crema that came with my mochas, and their gallo pinto was one of the best I've ever had. Tatiana was always my server when I was here. She didn't speak much English (yo hablo poquito Español), so we communicated via Google Translate. We managed to develop a rapport by the end of my stay, and I always think of her whenever I remember Dulce Junio. Overall, delicious food, amazing coffee, friendly staff, and well worth the visit (or multiple visits).

Juan Fernandez: Great ambience for an afternoon coffee, but better check out the frappe or cold coffee contraceptions, they look instagram worthy and taste just as good, and the passion fruit dessert... Just head there and try everything, please!

Viviana Grant: Best Café in San José, I keep trying to go to other places and always end up in here, the people, the atmosphere and the FOOD!!! Everything is definitely amazing! Deeply in love with Dulce Junio 💕

Stephanie Janes: Great coffees and different sorts of lunch items. Service was quick and friendly. Amazing drinks!

Jonathan Arce: Great to go with friends or a date. It is cozy, music is relaxing, food is great and service is really amazing. All people working there are very helpful and attentive. Overall great experience!

TJ Hegarty: Nice postrys. Inner courtyard is a a quite space to enjoy a coffee and brief rest while out walking around the city neighborhoods

Warren Kinsman: Great place to enjoy a good meal or fantastic baked goods with coffee or other specialty items served by very accommodating employees.

Jaxx&Ash: Delicious. Visited this cafe after dinner for dessert. Thoroughly enjoyed the creme de menthe chocolate cake the server recommended. The frosting was a double decker of rich fudge-like chocolate topped with a mint frosting that wasn’t too rich or overwhelming. Also went back for lunch and enjoyed the curry chicken sandwich which was huge and filling; perfect focaccia bread. This place is a must stop in this district!

Yandina Gonzàlez: Really nice place to go for a coffee! They also have good dessert options and if you go for lunch they have different options from the menu. It's also good for working but they don't have many plugs in case you are staying for long.

Starbucks Los Yoses: what do users think?

Michael Wurm: This is reliable and known Starbucks Quality. Not a place for inexpensive food, but a place for their well known quality and also their their professional and attentive staff. 🙏🏻 Good and stable WiFi, allowing to do some remote business activities. They also allowed MAX, my service dog, to accompany me inside and he truly enjoyed their tripple cheese baguettes. 😘

Jelmer R: Plenty of space to sit with nice atmosphere.

Nathan Yagi-Stanton: The cashiers are always very friendly and almost always speak both Spanish and English. The WiFi is very fast here so it’s a nice place to get a lot of work done. There is plenty of seating especially in the lower section. The standards seem to be set high and the staff always deliver a great experience. I don’t think I’ve ever seen the staff not having fun with each other or having an interesting conversation with the customers.

Brandon Gutierrez.: Nice and clean, the whole place smells like freshly grounded coffeeFood: 3/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Jenny Jarell: Very nice cozy Starbucks... best in town for sit down experienceFood: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Rory Magnusson: Good good and coffee. But it's expensiveFood: 4/5 | Service: 4/5 | Atmosphere: 4/5 …More

Carlos Medina: Trusted the world over for good Internet and a comfortable place to spend a few hours, this place offers a spot of first world comfortable in San Jose. Come try the local variations on Frozen drinks, breakfast sandwiches and chill for a while under the AC while you charge your phone in between touristic activities.

Jeanne White: I come to Costa Rica and San Jose at least once a year, and I stay within walking distance to this Starbucks. It’s always clean and the employees are very pleasant even though most do not speak English. The menu has a few specialty drinks that are not available in the USA. If you’re in the area, you should definitely check it out!

Abby Shih: It's a good Starbucks!

Terry Davis: Great customer service and clean

Petra Philipp: Great coffee and food, very nice Cafe with friendly staff and beautiful plants near German Embassy.

Caroline Guf: I was immediately greeted with a smile and a welcome upon stepping through the door. The space is relatively private and light with individually designed seating areas that are very conducive to conversation. The music was also conducive to conversation (which is sometimes not the case at some cafes). There is ample parking on premises for a city location but even if the parking is full, it’s easy to park in the area as long as there is not an event underway at the National Stadium. I had a cappuccino and a tortilla with cheese and sour cream. It was delicious. I stayed to get some work done in the calm atmosphere. Prices are reasonable if a touch high. (It’s not a cheap area of San Jose, in general.) Overall it was a delightful experience. It’s my new favorite cafe in this area. I’ll be back soon, I’m sure.
Response: Caroline, thank you so much for this lovely review . We are so happy to know that you found a place where you can work , have a conversation and enjoy some good coffee . Thank you so much. And please come back soon .

Ingrid Hanchard-Brown: A really lovely place to relax with a good book and eat great food prepared fresh as ordered. Loved my quinoa salad, minus the quinoa but with added (hot) chicken Bites. Also, had a satisfying wander through the adjacent store. Beautiful girlie goodies that makes you want to buy, even if not necessarily needed 😁😁
Response: Thank you so much Ingrid! ❤️

Alice M: Great iced americano - paper rather than plastic straws which is great 🌎 Lovely seating area - light and airy with lots of plants. Perfect stop if visiting La Sabana Park

Gökay KILIÇ: Very good place, strongly recommend! Do not forget to visit the area where the hand made stuff is sold!Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Steve D.: Great coffee at a good price. The Chemex is what I use at home and was able to get here. It gives you about 2 cups per set. They use locally grown coffee so that is a bonus.
Response: The Chemex is one of our favorite, we are glad that you enjoy it.

Malcolm Mooney: Great coffee and pastries, lovely decor and good music

Ilse Apestegui: Unique, beautiful, and expertly made leather good. I own several of their pieces and love them. The store also has a nice coffee shop attached to it.

Andrew Combs: Great espresso and filter coffee. Good quality tea sachets. I had a caturra honey process that I enjoyed.

Cassandra Saily: Very cute café, with great service and amazing baked goods. The espresso and coffee drinks are also very tasty!

Franco: what do users think?

Tatiana Vicol: Great brunch spot in the San Jose, Costa Rica. Have been to Franco twice and every time the food was delicious. It gets really busy around 11AM and wait times can be long but it is worth the wait. They have great options like chia pudding and more. The vibe is really cool too. The cold coffee is amazing. Recommended.
Response: Thank you Tatiana for your kind review! ☕☕

Kevin Otway: I ate brunch here today Saturday, Feb 5th, 2022 and was delighted by the exquisite deliciousness they serve here. It was a treat to dine here. The portion was perfect. The taste & promptness of service were marquis. I almost guzzled down my latte it tasted like it was dessert. I had the Homemade Bacon which consisted of an Eggs Benny on a Croissant with a particularly nice thick cut of bacon. It was accompanied by a salad with an absolutely divinely delicious gourmet dressing. What a mouthwatering experience! Make this a must go! Run here, don't walk! An experience in a culinary journey awaits you!
Response: Reading your review made our mouths water! Thank you for the detailed comment and for choosing Franco to hang out <3

Montana Fleming: We went to Costa Rica to see the possibility of living there in future years, touring several beach areas and before returning to California we spent a week in the capital, in one of the most beautiful neighborhoods: Escalante. Every day we walked to have breakfast in different places, almost by chance we found Franco. The place is a spacious house with a room full of tables and a patio with many plants at the back. We sat on a couch at a low table and ordered two mochas and a bowl of granola and yogurt. Everything was delicious, the staff was fast, attentive and professional. I highly recommend this place for a relaxing moment with quality food & drinks.
Response: What a warm and detailed review! We are proud to be located in a neighborhood as special as Escalante, and that we have had the pleasure of having you spend some time in our home :) We hope you stop by San José soon!

Brianna Russell: This is a cute restaurant. We stopped by to grab brunch before spending the day in San Jose and were very pleased. We ordered the fluffy pancakes and were blown away. The cherry honey latte was also delicious. The atmosphere was very relaxed and the service was great. If we come back to San Jose I would love to try Franco again and get some of their pastries.
Response: Hi Brianna! Thank you for your review! We are glad that you enjoyed our pancakes! They are to die for 🥞

Julieta Chaffee: This place is super cute! If you are lucky enough to sit outside your are surrounded by lush plants, inside is also wonderful. The coffee drinks are heavenly. Get the iced latte with horchata.Food: 5/5 | Service: 4/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Kristin Flores: Amazing brunch spot!! If you get there around or after 11, expect a wait but know that it’s worth it. The iced horchata latte was so good and all three of our meals very delicious. I can’t wait to go back and try more of their menu!
Response: Hello Kristin! Thank you for your review ✨ And our iced horchata is 😍 😍

BumbleBee: Super spot! Can only recommend. Busy so had to wait a little for a table (15 mins at at 09:40 on a Saturday), but we’ll worth it. Had the French Canadian Benedict dish. Amazing! Lovely staff.

Кристина Одиноченко: Amazing huge cappuccino. One of the best in Escalante. Handmade cheesecake with soft warm caramel. Beautiful garden. Chargers. Nice music and atmosphere. Don’t forget your QR code to enter that place.💚👌
Response: What a warm review :) Thank you!

Alex Floyd: Great place to eat and get a coffee or in my case a mint hot chocolate! Great vibes and music. The patio with the roof unrolled was quite literally a breath of fresh air! It reset my stressed from driving in the city nervous system. Excellent 👍Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Michelle Hayes: Excellent! Highly recommend. Sunday brunch at around 10:30 had only a 20 minute wait. The two Benedicts we tried were innovative and delicious. The pastries and desserts looked amazing. We also tried the cinnamon roll and it was just super. More of a flaky, croissant type…loved it!! The restaurant is requiring proof of COVID vaccination because they are operating at 100% capacity, so be prepared. The outside patio seating was delightful.
Response: Hi Michelle! Thanks for your review :)

Charlotte Hartung: delicious food & super friendly staff! :)

J T: Trendy, but not stuffy, quaint and "uptown," this little coffee shop is full of nice surprises. The genuinely friendly staff was the star of this visit, though it was a close second to the delicious coffee and pastries. I mean, really, who ever says no to a chewy warm brownie with vanilla ice cream. No disappointments here, it's all good!
