LeighAnn Albert: Delicious hamburgers, best we've had in Costa Rica. Unique combinations of flavors, my burger had walnuts! Also sweet potato fries were legit.
Response: Thank you very much for the visit, we cook with a lot of love, all the ingredients are local, we hope to see you soon.

Natalia Gómez: The beer selection was not as great as I was expecting, but the place is very nice, staff is friendly and food is good 😊

Korey Kinder: Best experience I’ve had in a long time! The food was amazing! The drinks were amazing! I had double of everything and that’s how good it was

Restaurant Critic: This place is in barrio escalante. Very cozy place. The menu is big. The food is delicious. Service was unattractive for the most part but was ok. I ordered the burger. It was delicious cooked to order. The potato wedges are to die for. They ask you what mayo you want with your fries and you can choose. I picked chipotle mayo. Delish. My friend ordered that taco platter. It comes with one of each of the tacos they have on the menu. I tried 2 of them and they were good. We couldn't finish all the food. Highly recommend, especially the burger but not the tacos

Paul Dominguez Gutierrez: Good selection of Tico beers with good service. The mushroom crockets we're spectacular and excellent cheesecake. Didn't have a burger but it looked amazing. The ceviche was ok; not bad just not great.

Federico Rivera: Very nice place at the heart of barrio Escalante. They’ve got a menu with lots of burger options. I went for the flank stake with fries and alioli. I would’ve put a little bit more salt in my meat but the truth is it was delicious, full of flavor and textures. Attention was excellent. Will come back to try other burgers.

Roberto De Marzi: Very fast and nice service. Food is good for a cheap price (1 course and beer 10$).Food: 4/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Adalberto Rodriguez: I like the place. Ordered a burger and it was really good. It's a bit expensive but I think it's worth it.Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 4/5 …More

Katie Sanderson: 3. Cheesecake at 📍 @lupulus Rating: 👎 Could do better Thoughts 💭 Found it over baked so the cheesecake was very dry. Reviews by @thefoodiestraveldiary

Lau SP: Great sangria! Tacos not my favorites, it is kind of expensive but for their hamburgers it's worth it.

Wilkcr: what do users think?

Tom Bombadill: What a confusing disappointment... Firstly, the beer is incredible. The tropical IPA is a must as well as the hibiscus beer (flowers of Jamaica) This must be said and the brewery itself must be complemented. Everything else though was just a let down. After driving 4 hours in the day to get back to San Jose I was looking forward to visiting Wilk after a friend's recommendation of the beer. But we walk in tired and hungry and get blasted by club music, to the level of not being able to talk to the waiter properly without raising your voice. 8pm Sunday and it was like being out on a Saturday night. So we took a table outside around the corner and then the waiter just ignored us because we said the music was too loud to sit down and have dinner with. Had to go and get my own menus and then had to go to be bar to ask for service after 10 minutes of sitting and waiting. Foodwise, the sweet potato chips and the onion rings with the sauces are amazing. Really crispy and well seasoned. The burgers though are absolutely rubbish, look at my photos. The meat was dry and tasted like nothing and my girlfriends Portobello burger was covered in way to much garlic aioli that she had to scrape off. I wish this place was better but the service was terrible, only from one big dude, the guy at the bar was good. He just made us feel so unwelcome from the moment we said the music was a bit too loud. In summary, if you want happiness, get the beer here takeaway and then go to Apotecario for burgers.

Jessica Bland: We came a bit earlier in the day after they’d opened to sample some of the craft brews! They had a great local selection, and reminded us a lot of our local taproom at home in Denver. Bar staff was great! We also had a burger and tenders, and were pretty happy with the food choices. We’d definitely come again!

Love Jones: My "traveling cube" and I enjoyed a fun night out on my last day in San Jose, Costa Rica. Our hostel buddies wanted a place to drink, so the flight of beer was less than $8 and gave us the option to try a variety of local, imported, and artisan cervezas. It was more than enough for a light-weight, such as myself, to leave feeling satisfied and giggly. The service was fast and friendly and suggested options based on my taste preferences. I don't remember if I ate here 🤔 I think I did but my batttery died so I don't have the photos of the food, so... no comment yet. Everything else was awesome, and the 80s/90s American music was fantastic. It's in a trendy area, but don't let that intimidate you, the dress code was casual and the vibe super-comfortable. A must-taste on your itinerary; almost like a chic Taco Mac or Buffalo Wild Wings... great for groups, date night, or solo travelers. #lovejonezin

Nathan Yagi-Stanton: Excellent selection of beers, they even brew their own. The best way to try a bunch is to order a beer flight. Good bar food options at reasonable prices and amazing mural art work throughout.

Steven: The vibes in this place are fantasticThis has a Prague 17th century vibe, you feel like you are drinking a lovely variety of local Costa Rican craft beer in a wine cellar, much is gracias

Joshua Harris: Terrible service. Our server never checked up on us. I wanted another drink and wife needed to go up to the bar to order it. We also wanted more food after our appetizers, but again, waitress never showed up to ask if we wanted something else or more drinks. You lost a bunch of money in food and drinks because of the terrible service not asking if we wanted something else. Decent beer selection that you can't find anywhere else. Food was decent also.

Louis Clément: Wilk Craft Beer has some very decent beers. Good imports and even better local crafts ans house crafts. I met Daniel the brewer and he's very knowledgeable and passionate. The place is rather young in their history (<2 years) but they've already won awards. Loved their candy Brown IPA.

Jim Platner: Tasty in house brewed beers and good pizza! Great service, cool atmosphere.

Justin Schmid: This is by far my favorite craft beer bar that we've found in San Jose. The tap list is extensive and weighted heavily toward regional craft labels. It also encompasses a wide variety of styles from stout to mead. The tacos are also delicious, and they play a decent variety of music at a low enough volume to allow you to chat with your drinking companions. And hey, there's a place to grab ice cream next door. A perfect place for craft beer!

Stephen Cortes: We came here for drinks after dinner here in the Escalante neighborhood. Great drinks and super friendly staff. We watched an NBA game here and is probably the best place we have found for watching sports. It appeared that a lot of locals frequent here. We went back on another night and it was just as much fun. We did not try the food, but I would like to the next time I’m in town because it looked and smelled delicious

Costa Rica Beer Factory: what do users think?

Alondra Espino: We had a great time at this place. Came on a Tuesday night while in San Jose because the reviews looked good and the pictures looked cool. We weren’t disappointed. We didn’t eat here but had some beers and they were delicious. The staff was very friendly. The place is huge with indoor and outdoor seating. Highly recommend

Marc Hilhorst: Very nice bar with local beer brewery that won local beer prizes. We had the lager, the Irish ale and beer made from cocos which were all quite impressive. The price is (as is reasonable for local brewery) on the higher side of the spectrum. Service was mega friendly and food (which we did not have apart from pretzel bread) looked very good too! Would definitely visit again and i believe this beer will make reputation in the future.

Johann Qua Hiansen: My server, Natalia, did a great job of explaining the beers on tap. The beer sampler is value priced and allows you to make the best decision. Fantastic service. Wish they had more souvenirs available like coasters or beer koozies. Music in the background was tasteful. Extremely happy.

Margaret Stark: This place was great. The decor was so cool and we loved the general vibe. We stopped here for drinks and apps on the way to another restaurant but we could have easily stayed here. The menu and drink option were extensive and everything was delicious. The pina colada was more like a milkshake and i could not have been happier.

Rahul Kurup: Nice craft beer. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. We tried the home brewed fruit lager and sweet stout. Both were great.

Allie Giamprini: Highly recommend this place - amazing service and great food! Their Keto food is amazing too! Will definitely be back!

Matt Holmes: Pricey spot that should have better beer considering. But in a reallyGreat neighborhood. They have WiFi and the password is “beertime” if you need it. Atmosphere is OK but there’s better ones nearby. Thanks for having us guys, still 4 stars considering.

Eric DeLaat: The Tropical Ceviche is to die for! Absolutely a sensational treat for the taste buds. Makes a great pairing with their Tortuguero. Aromatic and citrious flavor IPA in house craft beer!Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Steven: Excellent spot to try the fruited beer, coffee stout with Costa Rican coffee, and a nice DDH ipa. The ipa was surprisingly smooth and not as bitter as I’m used to, prices were amazing, $20 for 2 flights + 2 pints

Pat O: Good craft beer on tap and the food is good too (if a bit pricey but still worth it). We live in Costa Rica and really like this place. However, if we could make one suggestion, it would be to be very clear about what you order. Due to some sort of confusion that could have been easily avoided with better communication about what we were ordering and prices, we got the more costly and fancy milkshake instead of the one we were sure we had ordered. It was good but that's not the point. It was not what we had ordered and we felt like it was upsold without being clear about what we had actually ordered. Unfortunately, this sort of thing of not being clear about pricing, especially when adding on to orders happens with some frequency in Costa Rica (I have lived here for many years and have frequented many restaurants on my own and with tourist groups). If visiting the Beer Factory (and any other place for that matter), make sure to be very clear about what you order and to know the price beforehand. I know, sounds like common sense but trust me, be careful about that or you will definitely end up feeling like you were taken advantage of at any number of places.

Sharon Maltez: I ordered for Didi food and the description of the fries said "extra large portion of fries", this is what arrived

Nikki Ulate: We ordered through didifood and the food was totally different from the photos. The birria tacos with burnt meat, the flavorless birria broth and the super small size. The nachos arrived cold and also with burnt meat.

El Sitio CR: Very cool the decoration with graffiti with neon effect. Delicious burger and sangria.

Raphael Estrada: Top, very good atmosphere. Impeccable service, very friendly everyone. Big G on that house, he blew it up. Super recommended to have fun and dance.
