Lighthouse International School: what do users think?

Vilma Perez: Lighthouse international School is the answer to our prayers. As a parents, we wanted a safe place for our children with excellent academic levels. And we as a family found in LIS more than we were expecting, we got the safety and academic levels we were looking for, but also found carrying classmates, loving teachers, beautiful infrastructure, extracurricular activities, core values and spiritual guidance. We as family are happy with the decision and look forward to continue with this institution.

Fiorella Fúster Valenciano: Great education, teachers care about their students hearts and minds!

Ivannia Mora Aglietti: Excellent academic education with strong values !!!

; Jeongyeon Wife ;: Amazing education, they care about students.

Aemilii Melby: I highly recommend this school!

Gabriel E. Gonzalez: Good Stuff.

Sebastian Villegas: Love this school

Andrea Ortiz Rodríguez: Lighthouse International School is an excellent educational option, both for its academic level and for the inclusion of Christian principles and values in the educational curriculum. It is a healthy environment, with teachers committed to their students and love and respect are breathed throughout the institution...

Felipe Bonilla Pacheco: It is an excellent academic option, with principles and values to form integral people, full of kindness and knowledge. The treatment of teachers and administrators towards students and parents is extremely professional and, at the same time, close. Another positive detail is that they allow them to take the International Baccalaureate (IB), which further develops the global and analytical vision of young people. Super recommended from PreK to IB!!

The American International School of Costa Rica: what do users think?

Sofia P: I genuinely had great experiences while I studied at AIS. The teachers and staff are truly amazing, they always inspire and help you become a better person and student. Something I admire and consider unique from this school is the comfortable and good environment it has. Everything I learned at AIS has helped me become the person I am today.

lisa levitt: I am currently a teacher at AIS. I have a son who is in the 8th grade. I am going to speak from a parent not a teacher. My son has some learning difficulties. The LSP Program is wonderful. He came from the states only speaking a little Spanish and very shy. We have been here only a year and his Spanish is getting better every day and his confidence is building. He wants to stay in Costa Rica and graduate from AIS. The small group environment is wonderful and has allowed him to grow and become more confident. The kids are very accepting of others. I attribute this to the many different cultures we have. The kids are very tolerant of each other and are very helpful to one another. As a parent I am so happy to see my son happy and thriving.

Natasha Chipembere: Please be aware that someone posted an offensive post about the American International School of Costa Rica under a fake account using my name this morning. I am personally insulted that someone would be so cowardly to hide under my name to share such ignorant observations. Anyone who knows my character as an educator and parent knows that I would NEVER post defamatory comments on the school which my children attend or about my colleagues. I have been an educator for over 20 years and I refuse to have my reputation tarnished by someone who does not have the bravery to state their personal feelings about AIS under their own name! I have no problems with free speech but creating fake accounts to sabotage a school that I take great pride in being a part of is both infantile and ignorant. AIS is a community that I am deeply invested in and I respect my coworkers and students deeply. The potential of students here is immense. With my expertise, I can teach anywhere in the world. I have specifically chosen AIS for all that it provides for myself and my family. If anyone has any doubt about my support for AIS, please come speak to me directly - DO NOT use my name in vain. - Dr. Natasha Gordon-Chipembere

Milena Mena: Best place for the little one to start their journey into this crazy worldI could not think of a better place to get them started

Just some random girl: I am in the school 😋

isabella sancho: As a former student of this institution, I can say that if you are looking for a quality education and a family environment for your children, this is the right school. I spent four years at AIS, from ninth to twelfth grade, and during those four years I not only received an excellent quality education, I also found a second family and a place that will always be my second home. In this school, students have different opportunities, whether they are academic or extra-curricular. I personally was part of the four sports teams that the girls have in college (basketball, soccer, volleyball, and cross country) the four years I was there and it was the best decision I could have made. Graduating from this school has opened many doors for me and I know that it will continue to do so in the future.

Roberto Montalvan: I really like the work environment, the dedication that is given to the students. By the number of students per classroom, teaching can be individualized. Technology is being applied in the lessons and teachers are constantly being trained.

Gabriela Murillo Villanea: It is an excellent place to work and a multicultural educational center, with highly individualized bilingual attention. It promotes sports and healthy life, its education is comprehensive, emphasizing the promotion of values.

Павел Наумов: Love this school❤ I spent a great time there (unforgettable grades 1-2), I advise this school to everyone who comes to Costa Rica🖒

ILISA - Language School: what do users think?

Taylore Fox: My experience with ILISA was wonderful! I would recommend it to anyone who is looking to do an immersion program in the capital city. Our host families were welcoming and the staff was always willing to help. I benefitted tremendously from the private tutor sessions that we had when we did our program through my undergraduate university. I was able to work at a faster pace and do more conversation related activities. The tutors work at your level and push you to advance your spanish skills. View is great from the building and it is in a good location!
Response: Buenos dias Taylore! Many thanks for this review. Glad to see you've benefitted from your time at Ilisa!

Sharon Vanecek: I have attended ILISA in Costa Rica twice, each time for 4 weeks. It was the best experience of my life. I spoke no Spanish when I first arrived but have made considerable progress. All the staff is fabulous and very supportive. I highly recommend ILISA to anyone who wants to study Spanish.
Response: Sharon, Glad to see you enjoyed your stay at Ilisa!

Sonya Strikowski: ILISA is a fabulous school for Spanish immersion, set in a residential neighborhood in the city of San Pedro. It is a beautiful modern school building with over 20 classrooms and gorgeous views from every room, including the enormous open-air cafeteria. The Director of the school makes certain that you are placed with an appropriate teacher. If there is no other student at your level, she will call in another teacher just for you. Hellen is very responsive to each student’s needs. Teachers and students wear masks, the school is cleaned daily; every classroom has huge windows that remain open to allow in the cool fresh air – temperatures in the 60’s & 70’s. I attended ILISA for 4 weeks in July-August 2021 and stayed with a host family. Initially I took a free walking tour in San Jose to get the lay of the land. San Jose is just a short Uber ride from San Pedro. Then ILISA helped arrange weekend trips for me. Don’t miss the opportunity to explore this beautiful country while you are here. YOU WILL FEEL SAFE IN COSTA RICA! There is no dissension anywhere in the country about mask wearing; it is the law and everybody complies. Shops, restaurants, museums, churches, tourist attractions are all open with outdoor handwashing sinks or hand sanitizer. I strongly recommend a homestay for full immersion and Prosana’s, an amazing nearby restaurant for lunch or as an inviting place to sit and do your homework after class. Vamos a aprender espanol en ILISA.
Response: Hola Sonya, thanks a lot for your kind words, here at ILISA we do our best to make feel our students welcome, appreciated and safe. Thanks a lot for participating in our program and we hope to see you again! A big hug from the ILISA family!

Justine Olivia: I had an absolute amazing time at ILISA. I made friends with not just the students but the teachers as well. It was an amazing experience, my host family was so welcoming as well. I learned so much about the language and culture of Costa Rica. I would love to return one day.
Response: Many thanks Justine for the review! Glad you enjoyed your time at Ilisa :)

Danya Greider: Unfortunately, I could only spend a week at Ilisa in February 2018. I had 4 hours of group (very small group) lessons each morning with Elizabeth. She is engaging and inspiring in her teaching method. Her speech is clear and precise. You can tell that she loves learning new things and teaching her students. Then I had 4 more hours of private lessons with Carlos. Carlos is very easy to talk to about a whole variety of subjects. He is very knowledgeable. I am interested in how the words derived in Spanish, and he could explain things so that I could understand. I am an intermediate Spanish speaker, and I was excited to make progress in my Spanish. The facility is very nice, and the lunches were fresh and tasty. The weather in February could not have been better. I plan on making a yearly trip to Ilisa to this wonderful school!
Response: Thanks a lot for your kind words Danya, it was a pleasure to have you with us at ILISA

Serge Zenin: I had an excellent experience with ILISA. The school was professional, entertaining, and helped make me fluent! I did the executive program and it was an unforgettable time, I recommend this program to anyone who is serious about learning Spanish.
Response: Hello Serge! Many thanks for taking the time to write a review. I'm glad to hear you had a successful experience learning Spanish at Ilisa and that it is serving you well in your work!

British School of Costa Rica: what do users think?

Abdelkarim Amro Eltaib Molina: ok

Jersson Chavarría: Very organised place, clean, secure and the staff is very kind.

Edgar Valverde: Fully recommended

Natalia Arce: My son was rejected to enter as a new entry for 2022, he has specific needs, the observations evaluated after the interview were discriminatory and unprofessional.

Michael Esteban Calvo Salazar: very nice place

Gerardo Arroyo: In short, not only does it have an excellent educational proposal that includes the British Curriculum and the International Baccalaureate, but it is also at the forefront of new ways of educating in accordance with our times. A pioneering College in Costa Rica in many fields and which also enjoys great prestige outside our borders. The teaching and learning environment is excellent and creates all the spaces so that, according to their age, each student and member of their staff grows integrally. For anyone who knows about education, this College is, without a doubt, of the highest quality.

Okay lol: I studied here and it was fine maybe some things have to change but it was fine

luis Danilo Garcia: Excellent very good and beautiful

DOUGLAS AGUERO CALDERON: Cozy very professional in their work good facilities a beautiful soccer field identified with the environment everything super good

The Poor Game Reviewer: There is very little room for creativity, some teachers treat students very unfairly, all problems are handled irresponsibly, the High School administration seems to have no interest in students, very bad experience, so they charge should at least demand a certain level of respect towards students.

Gre Jara: In lousy Customer Service, a boy named Alfredo attended me in Secondary school with an incredible decision and with an arrogance that surpasses any understanding of a simple request he took a thousand turns to not attend to it! Juan Pablo Peláez Villa: I lik ite

Alegría Lores: World-class school!

Melissa Sanchez: Classists and specialists in bullying, the school has no commitment, they do not care about the well-being of the children who suffer from this problem, I do not recommend them at all, my daughter was harassed since she arrived and the school did not acquire any commitment, just like As was the case with me, after this I realized that there were many mothers who were dissatisfied with the same thing.

Rosa Madrigal: My kids went there, now my grandchildren are going there, I love the school system it gives a lot of opportunities to the kids to travel, learn, The atmosphere in the school feels like a whole big family , the closeness between parent teacher excellent

Lucas Aguirre: Warm and helpful staff. Looks like a good school.

Juan Monge: Excellent place to study !

Jose Mendez: Staff contact in the place is slow, please call.

Michelle R: The school is very nice, the children really enjoy going to school. They have different clubs: soccer, karate, ballet, etc. I really liked it and the attention has always been good. I think it is a fairly complete place, you can see that values are practiced a lot within the institution, seeing the students from this place makes them look pretty good as an institution because they have always left a good impression on me when I see the education and respect they have inside the place.

Esteban Garita Solorzano: Very nice school, I really like that they handle several languages, the facility is quite large and they have many clubs such as soccer, karate, ballet, robotics and etc ...

Bambu Luna: It is a private school with hours from 8 am to 3:30 pm, they offer lunch and snacks, it is very expensive for what they teach and the kind of menu they have for children, both children studied there and the truth is they are not missing out nothing, except saving a fortune, I would say that in a semi-private or public school you can get the same education, the only thing that stands out in that school is the level of English, the rest is overrated

Ogeid 129: they have me 😎

Dan MM: Messy and dangerous parking, the pedestrian is not respected and interferes with vehicular traffic.
